Daphne Oz

If you’re like most people, bugs bug you.

Not that you don’t love them. Not that you won’t fiercely campaign to protect their habitats and all, especially when they are being threatened by even bigger, nastier bugs like deforestation and harmful chemical pesticides.

But when it comes to living side-by-side, you’d rather the bugs stay on theirs.

Daphne Oz, host on The Chew and author of The Dorm Room Diet, has a formula for a natural insect repellent that’s safer for humans and bugs alike.

Tom Parker Bowles

Tom Parker Bowles, the son of the Duchess of Cornwall, has ticked off quite a few vegan parents for criticizing their decision to raise their kids as such.

The author of The Year of Eating Dangerously, who’s admitted to eating dog, cobra and foie gras, said on an episode of UK’s ITV’s This Morning that, “‘All these ridiculous hippies who bang on and tell us that we shouldn’t be eating this, we should be eating vegan raw diets…for children, that’s child abuse, I think.'”

Wife Swap

ABC’s Wife Swap is holding auditions for another season where the women of the house trade places to entertain millions of viewers and give headaches to members of the opposite family.

Vegetarians and vegans, this is your time to spread the word on national television, as this is one reality TV show that’s actually welcoming of you.

“We’re searching for traditional and non-traditional families; parents and kids who love sports; households with strict rules and no rules; vegetarian families and families who eat anything; moms and dads who love the arts and families who just want to have fun…along with every one in between.”

Vegetarians have “swapped” before and made it out okay, like the Brazenwood/Taylor swap of 2009, featuring the matriarchs from a Texas cattle ranch and a new age vegan family seeing what it’s like on the other side.

As expected, the families’ reunion featured a discussion on food, the cattle rancher mom claiming she walked into a home with “no food at all,” and vegan mom giving a lecture on junk food.

“Real Housewives” Vicki Gunvalson Tosses Out Real Fur

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 in Actresses, Film & TV, Fur, Reality TV.

Real Housewives Orange County

Vicki Gunvalson may have a lot of issues to bicker about with her friends on the Real Housewives of Orange County, but which fur to wear to the party later in the evening isn’t one of them.

Gunvalson has sworn off fur after being contacted by animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and learning what goes on in the fur industry.

Anyone who watches reality TV knows the roles of women have changed significantly, and ladies do more than prepare dinner for the husbands in between make-up and hair touches. And actresses today don’t look glamorous at all wearing something from a dead animal.

“Growing up in the sixties and seventies, women I looked up to were stars of television and films, they were beautiful, glamorous and successful,” writes Gunvalson in statement. “Successful women role models were really just emerging for young women of my generation; it was a simpler time but full of exciting change. There were dreams every girl aspired to.”

Chaka Khan was a guest on The Wendy Williams Show where the newly slimmer star just had to share the secret of her 60 pound weight loss.

When asked why she no longer ate meat, Khan replied, “I just don’t trust stuff.”

Not a bad idea.

After most people learn about the fat, links to disease and weird addictives that go into meat products, Ain’t Nobody goin’ trust that stuff.
