Helene Leeds Masterchef

Coming from an area in Maryland that is big on crabmeat, Helene Leeds said her mother threatened to disown her when she switched to a vegan diet.

The Masterchef finalist isn’t used to making crabmeat and that’s probably why she performed poorly during the challenge on Gordon Ramsay‘s Fox television series.

It’s too bad she couldn’t show off her cooking skills with the vegan dish that got her into the top 36 finalists.

What Not To Wear

An episode of What Not To Wear had a young vegan get a wardrobe makeover without breaking her principles of being cruelty-free.

Beverly Hills Nannies

The debut episode of ABC’s Beverly Hills Nannies featured the vegan Elkins family and the nanny named Amanda who isn’t.

Amanda appears eager to do the job right, asking questions about ingredients to make sure she doesn’t compromise the children’s diets. And she does have a sense of humor about it.

“Any animals harmed in the process of making that bread?” she asked during a  trip to the bakery. To which the baker jokingly replied, “Wheat.”

Your Sister's Sister

The vegan pancakes cooked during an episode of Your Sister’s Sister featuring Emily Blunt and Rosemarie DeWitt as long lost half-sisters reunited were best described as “challenged.”

Writer of the comedy series Lynn Shelton says the scene was inspired by her real life attempt to create an egg-free version of the fluffy flapjack, the kindest words that could be used to describe them being “glue.”

“I have a ridiculous diet. Although, as Mark pointed out earlier, if we put my actual diet on screen nobody would believe it. So I was poking fun at myself. And those particular pancakes came out of a disaster years ago, which was the first time I’d ever tried using flax to replace eggs.”

Ted Danson

Ted Danson has said that although he considers himself an environmentalist, you shouldn’t look to him as a role model for vegetarianism.

“Oh yeah, no, I’m an actor,” Danson told GQ magazine. “Which means one week I’m vegan, the next I don’t know.”

It appears he’s back to a vegan diet again, but the meat items provided by catering on the set of CSI may have him saying, “I don’t know” shortly.
