Pamela Anderson recently took a trip to Montenegro to meet with the Atlas Group and discuss building a eco friendly spa and hotel in the country.

The hotel, if Pamela decides by next month to build, will contain all the elements of a green business, right down to serving organic and vegetarian food as much as possible.

If this seems like the exception to the rule, the vegetarian actress and sex symbol says it’s the norm for Montenegro.

“A country well versed and already committed to the ecological principles so important to me,” Pamela says as she introduces Montenegro.

“A country where local and organic farming already exists by default, rather than by design.”

That’s it. Give us a timeshare for a condo there!

Watch the clip above to hear Pamela’s entire green business idea.

2009 Annual Military Parade at the Champs Elysees - Paris

France’s first lady, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, recently showed her compassionate side by revealing she refuses to wear fur.

Now hubby president Nicolas Sarkozy is appearing to show support for animals and the environment, supporting a ban on bluefin tuna fishing, wanting to add the fish to the Convention In International Trade on Endangered Species.

However, appearances can be deceiving.

It seems Sarkozy’s ban has more to do with helping people fish more in the future than it does to save the fishes.

At the national stakeholder consultation on the future of France’s fisheries, Sarkozy said, “Ours is the last generation with the ability to take action before it’s too late – we must protect marine resources now, in order to fish better in future. We owe this to fishermen, and we owe it to future generations.”

Several notable people, including vegan actress and activist Alicia Silverstone, as well as some British celebrities, have spoken against bluefin tuna being served in restaurants due to the fact it’s an endangered species.

Bruno Not Anti Hummus: Sasha Baron Cohen’s Middle East Visit

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, July 17th, 2009 in Actors, Humor, Pop Culture.

Bruno: The Movie Australian Premiere

Sasha Baron Cohen’s Bruno features a scene where the old standby vegetarian dish of hummus and pita becomes part of a joke.

Bruno interviews Yossi Alpher, a former Israeli Mossad officer, and Ghassan Khatib, a former Palestinian Cabinet minister during his visit to what he calls, “Middle Earth,” that is intended to make peace.

“Why are you so anti-Hamas?” Bruno asks. “I mean, isn’t pita bread the real enemy here?”

“You think there is a relation between Hamas and Hummus?” Khatib asks.

“Hummus has nothing to do with Hamas,” Alpher responds “It’s a food. We eat it, they eat it.”

“It’s vegetarian, it’s healthy, it’s beans,” Khatib says.

While the vegetarian scene may be humorous, other antics Bruno does in the Middle East, or “Middle Earth,” has already launched a lawsuit from a former member of a militant group who alleges one of Bruno’s jokes about terrorists activity could land him in hot water by both Palestinians and Israeli’s.

Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney rocks up a storm for the Late Show With David Lettermen in New York

Any entrepreneur or developer knows getting a successful product out is more than just putting in eight hours a day.

There are often late nights, weekends, and pounds of bacon to shove down your throat regularly.

Neil Gillis, former managing director of Linda McCartney foods, has told the UK Guardian just how dedicated Paul McCartney was to improving the vegetarian food range of his late wife.

“He took over after Linda died and it was very helpful, he was very interested in the products, like when we developed vegetarian bacon – he ate it for breakfast everyday so was keen to get it right.”

Now veggie bacon is delish and all, but everyday for breakfast? That’s dedication!

Jane Taylor Discusses Rewards Of Riding The Sea Shepherd

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, July 17th, 2009 in Animal Issues, Reality TV.

Whale Wars star and former Naval Surface Warfare Officer (hence the 2008 Sexiest Vegetarian Soldier title) Jane Taylor says riding the Steve Irwin with the Sea Shepherd crews is a lot like her experiences with the military.

But the big differences between the Sea Shepherd and the Navy is that the crew gets to crank their music up, put creative drawings and stamps on the ship’s log, and the whole crew eats vegan!

Jane announced on last week’s episode that she’ll be leaving the Steve Irwin for now, but there’s a good chance she’ll be back!

From an interview with peta.org:

What was the most rewarding part of your post with Sea Shepherd?
I would say being able to utilize my skills in an appropriate arena—the ocean—and feeling useful. The ultimate for an animal activist is to go on campaign and be in the action and feel the wind and sea spray and life as opposed to being in an office, which, of course, is important as well.

You can catch the Sea Shepherd crew on Whale Wars every Friday evening at 9PM EST on the Animal Planet Channel.
