Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster are happily expecting a baby in March of 2011, but the couple’s happiness could have been threatened by fish.

Lancaster is a lover of seafood and had to be counseled by her doctor about the dangers of consuming mercury-laden fish, especially during pregnancy.

“I love fish and I thought that it was healthy without understanding the high mercury levels that fish like tuna, swordfish and halibut can contain,” Lancaster, 39, told Hello! in its latest issue, according to People.

“My doctor said it was unhealthy to have so much mercury in my body, and also for conceiving babies.”

Pescatarian is better than a red meat eater, but mercury levels found in fish can affect brain and nervous system development and the FDA has issued guidelines for groups at-risk for being affected the most–pregnant women, women trying to get pregnant and children.

Prince Charles has opened his home to the London public to host a sustainable living fair, A Garden Party To Make A Difference. But quite a few rodents are into the organic fruits and vegetables he’s grown and are the source of annoyance to the staff at his residence.

According to MSNBC, a source told The Sun the eco-friendly loving rats are having a hard time practicing the art of not over-consuming. “The rats have become more of a problem. There seem to be more — and they are getting bigger. We’ve lost strawberries and our tomatoes got nibbled overnight. It’s all down to the rats.”

No animal lover wants to kill rats with poisonous material or painful traps, but no one wants their yard to be a farmers market for rodents either. What is a humane, eco-friendly way to evict these creatures from your property? Peanut Butter!

Tal Ronnen, encouraging chefs to get creative with plant based dishes. For some vegetarian patrons, portobello mushrooms and penne pasta is much more creative than the standard “house salad” or veggie burger that you can buy frozen in the grocery store option.

KT Tunstall is the latest celebrity to comment on the Lady-Gaga-Meat-Dress-Saga. Yes, amazingly enough, that is still considered news.

Tunstall says that while she understands why vegetarians and vegans are so upset, Gaga’s dress worn for the cover of Vogue Japan isn’t much different from people wearing leather.

“As soon as I saw it, I thought, what is the difference between that and leather? Animals die needlessly for leather all the time.”

“I haven’t heard a legitimate reason why anyone would be offended by her wearing meat, except for vegans angry about animals being killed, which is fair enough.”

Tunstall, a pescatarian, recently took her own hit of controversy with vegetarians when she ate black pudding, a dish made of congealed pig’s blood.

A little steak on the hips. Pig’s blood to the lips. Can we all agree to aim to stop using animals for human purposes period and call it a day?

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if one of the most popular former presidents of the United States was a spokesperson for the vegetarian and vegan diet? Well, he practically is.

As reported earlier, Bill Clinton has been sticking to a mainly vegetarian diet (he says once in awhile he’ll eat fish, but not very often) since discovering it worked so well for his weight loss before Chelsea’s wedding. In an interview for Yahoo News and the Huffington Post, Clinton brings up a study he read that showed people who followed a vegan diet and put no added cholesterol into their bodies from animal products had some pretty good health outcomes.

“Since 1986, several hundred people who have tried essentially a plant based diet–not ingesting cholesterol from any source–have seen their bodies start to heal themselves,” Bill said.

Lady Gaga and her smelly meat dress may have launched a repulsive trend in fashion.

The New York Daily News reports that designer Jeremy Scott showcased a model in a bustier and matching skirt that appeared to be made from prosciutto at Scott’s Spring 2011 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The dried ham look isn’t flattering on anybody, but with so many models aiming to be stick thin, why would any of them agree to look like a pig?
