Heather Mills has temporarily closed her vegan cafe in Hove, East Sussex, V Bites, with sources saying the staff has been placed on winter break and will return to operations in the spring.

According to the Daily Mail, a sign on the door of the restaurant reads, “VBites is having its end-of-summer holiday from Saturday, September 11. We’ve been working hard and it’s been our pleasure to serve you over the summer. We’d like to thank all our customers and friends and look forward to seeing you again soon when we re-open.”

Does this mean Heather’s business isn’t doing as well as she predicted?

It depends on who you speak with.

Mills has said she has entrepreneurs lined up to run franchises of V Bites and a spokesperson said that the cafe is being shut down for the winter for training purposes for the franchise.

However, a cafe insider has a different theory.

“I understand Heather has been haemorrhaging money on VBites for a while now. A six-month ‘holiday’ isn’t usual.”

Then again, nothing is ever usual when it comes to Heather. Hopefully the break is indeed meant to prep for bigger and better opportunities for the animal-friendly restaurant.
