Alicia Silverstone and her husband Christopher Jarecki are now parents of a baby boy the couple named Bear Blu Jarecki. When he gets older, this bear may choose not to eat honey though, because his parents have been proud vegans for years.

“Eco-friendly fashion is something I’ve always felt strongly about. You have to create demand so the customer base will grow. We’ve been doing organic for years in my own collection, in my lingerie and with the Adidas collaboration. We touch on it across the board. I think it’s a bit more sincere to do that. It’s part and parcel for us as a brand.”

—Stella McCartney, who recently opened a store in Saks Fifth Avenue in New York. In addition to not using fur or leather in her collection, McCartney has used some of her prints to raise awareness and money for her family’s Meat-Free Monday campaign in the UK.

Jane Velez-Mitchell hosted two of the men behind a new chain of restaurants that will serve made-to-order, healthy food and include many vegan and vegetarian options.

Ex President and Chief Operating Officer of McDonald’s Mike Roberts recruited vegan chef Tal Ronnen to help create the menu.

Both men sat with Jane and answered questions from viewers about this exciting new concept.

Now that the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is over, we can gossip about much more interesting things hip Brits are doing like organic farming.

Prince Charles agrees and during his visit to Washington, D.C. in the states, he praised Walmart, criticized farm subsidies and the use of lots of pesticides. He also said these things were way cooler to discuss compared to the “embarassing speeches” he made during William and Kate’s wedding reception.

Puppy Mill Action Week is wrapping up and singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat has helped the Humane Society of the United States educate people on how important it is to not support mills through a series of recorded PSAs featuring her music.

Pet lovers were urged to take a different action every day during Action Week and for Friday, Caillat and the HSUS would like you to urge Congress to pass the PUPS Act.
