Homer Simpson may be a meat eating, donut devouring, less than fit character on The Simpsons, but the guy who lends his voice to the nuclear power plant dad is anything but.

According to Hispanic Business, Dan Castellaneta is a teetotaler vegetarian who exercises every day and practices yoga.

Earning approximately $400,000 per episode, Castellaneta pulls in roughly $8 million a year for his “D’oh!” talents.

That’s more than enough to buy all the organic food he wants from Whole Foods.

A finalist in Britain’s Got Talent sustains her energy by following a vegetarian, organic diet.

She’s also enjoys being petted by fans.

Twelve year old Chandi is the dog of 37-year old Tina Humphrey from Shropshire, and the two are finalists in the talent reality TV show, with Chandi carrying the bulk of the talent.

It should come as no surprise that Chandi will only eat meatless–organic vegetables and cheese, because that’s what all serious professional athletes do.

“She’s on an organic raw food diet too – she is an athlete after all,” Humphrey told The Sun.

Chandi’s favorite treat is mild cheddar and although the brand can vary, it’s imperative that it’s organic.

Wonder if Chandi lets off less rear end steam due to her diet, like Alicia Silverstone‘s dogs did when they went veg.

Padma Lakshmi, Food 52’s Amanda Hesser, celebrity chef Charlie Trotter and author Kathleen Collins made up a panel that recently discussed whether or not food TV does anyone any good at the “Food on the Tube: How TV Shapes the Way We Think About Food” discussion.

Sure, we need to learn to cook versus ordering out, taking out and boiling processed packaged contents in the microwave every night, but do food television programs teach or are viewers just there for entertainment?

Celebrity chef Trotter, who owns Charlie Trotter, a restaurant that features an entire vegetable menu, got his first lessons in cooking in college from reading The Vegetarian Epicure and admits, like the rest of the panel, he didn’t have anyone teaching him to cook early in life.
