Bill Clinton made a guest appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight where he gave his thoughts on the soda ban New York City Mayor Bloomberg would like to implement.

Bloomberg would like to ban all soda drinks served over 16 ounces in various establishments like sports arenas and restaurants.

The former president who turned vegan to fight heart disease says he thinks Bloomberg is “doing the right thing.”

Clinton has worked with schools and soft drink companies to improve their lunch menus, including removing or limiting the available of soda in the cafeteria.

“We got a voluntary agreement from all the soft-drinks people to [pull full-calorie soft drinks from schools in 2006]. It has reduced by 88%, the total calories going to kids in vending machines and cafeterias” Clinton said.

Some may believe ordering a vegetarian burrito from the restaurant will result in a meat-free meal. But only the company’s black beans are vegetarian, as the pinto beans are cooked with bacon.

The couple visited a macrobiotic restaurant, where Baldwin attempted to sample the vegan curry, but the kitchen was already closed. He instead opted for a cucumber salad. Hilaria ordered steamed greens and veggies.

Several Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities have collaborated to create a vegan cookbook filled with recipes and tips that is set for release in 2013.

The Bolly Holly Vegan Cookbook contains contributions from big names like Amrita Rao, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Neha Dhupia.

“It will be perfect for everyone – veteran vegans, curious newcomers and those who just want to try the occasional meatless meal – as well as both kitchen novices and culinary wizards,” said Poorva Joshipura, head of animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India and vice president (International Operations), PETA Foundation UK.
