Paul McCartney is so confident his vegetarian diet will keep him healthy and disease free, he’s planning for his 100th birthday bash.

Monsters and Critics reported a friend said, “Paul has a hunch he’ll still be here to mark his 100th year. He leads a pretty healthy life with a strict vegetarian diet and he exercises regularly. He certainly sees 100 as a reachable target.”

Paul’s hunch is probably right, as recent studies have shown having your daily dose of meat, takes daily doses of your lifespan away, making you more likely to die from heart disease and cancer.

Although we’re not aware of any studies on it, we’re sure a veg diet gives you more strength to blow out all 100 candles when you reach the big day.

McCartney Family Launch Meat Free Monday - Green Carpet

Before Paul McCartney continues to promote his “Compulsory Veggieburger Mondays,” he should study the science: Vegetarian farts are responsible for more carbon emissions than you can count.

Professor VSmartt at the Institute of Hydrocarbons says so.

“British vegetarians and their fascist nutter vegan first cousins produce more killer gas from their wacky self-imposed diets than all the coal-fired power stations in China.”

“If I point my finger at someone, saying, “You should be a vegetarian,” they’re just going to get annoyed…There is definitely a risk [of] alienating people. Maybe one day a week, consider what you are doing. We’re saying, do this for your personal health and in the process you help animals and you help the environment.”

Paul McCartney has said in the past that everyone should at least have a Meat Free Monday, or one day of the week where meat isn’t consumed to lessen the impact of the industry on the planet.

Now the whole McCartney family is getting in on the game, with daughters Mary and Stella backing dear ol’ dad.

The family has been giving Meat Free Monday a lot of press interviews lately, including one with Sky News, where Paul made an attempt to crack a cow fart joke by saying, “A cow walks into a bar…”

Glad he wasn’t able to finish it.

Cows passing gas in the fields are responsible for more greenhouse emissions than cars on the roads.

Singer Pink To Kanye West: Shut The Fur Up!

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009 in Female Singers.

Stella McCartney: Paris Fashion Week Ready-to-Wear A/W 09

The fur’s about to fly between singer Pink and Kanye West.

Kanye showed less than good manners while attending a fashion show hosted by vegetarian designer Stella McCartney when he insisted on talking about fur. Oh, and did we mention, Stella’s vegetarian dad, Paul McCartney and PETA vice president Dan Matthews were present too? Don’t forget that Pink is also vegetarian.

Smooth, Kanye. Real smooth.

“Kanye West is the person p**sing me off right now,” Pink said.

“I was at Stella McCartney’s Paris fashion show with the vice president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Paul McCartney and Kanye West.”

“The entire time Kanye is going, ‘They need more fur in this show’. He just wouldn’t shut up about how he loved fur. I mean, he’s saying this to me, the PETA guy and Paul McCartney! I was just so grossed out by him. I’m like, ‘You’re an idiot!'”

And who wants a Kanye pelt?

“There are so many people who I think are a waste of skin and he’s up there. I should wear him. Go on, donate yourself Kanye. People can wear your fur.”

One victory down, many more to go.

The European Parliament voted to ban the import of seal products, including coats and even some omega-3 pills.

According to news.yahoo.com:

“The EU ban will apply to all products and processed goods derived from seals, including their skins — which are used to make fur coats, bags and adorn clothing — as well as meat, oil blubber, organs and seal oil, which is used in some omega-3 pills.”

The ban is an effort to pressure Canada to end its annual seal hunt.

Many notable celebrities have voiced their concerns over Canada’s Seal Hunt, including Pamela Anderson, Paul McCartney, Ryan Reynolds, Brigitte Bardot, and Bryan Adams.
