Quantcast Vegetarian StarMargaret Cho

Comedian Margaret Cho is donating a portion of proceeds from her latest tour for her comedy CD Cho Dependent to the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Mississippi. The institute is helping to rescue and rehabilitate animals affected by the Gulf oil spill. Cho’s tour starts August 26th and ends on December 2nd.

Since April 20th, 2010, the IMMS has responded to over 200 dolphins and sea turtles and has rescued more than 30 live sea turtles.

They’ve posted a video on their site, which can be seen below, showing four species of sea turtles enjoying life in the healthy waters as they should. The clip, titled, “Baby Sea Turtle Ballet,” features four baby turtles formerly covered in oil that were saved by IMMS: the Hawksbill, Kemp’s Ridley, the Green, and the Loggerhead.

New York Magazines 40th Anniversary Event

Twitter Wit: Brilliance in 140 Characters or Less, is a book compiled by Nick Douglas that showcases some of the funniest Tweets to comedians like Margaret Cho, Michael Showalter, and Paula Poundstone.

Punchline magazine has shared a few to warm up your funny bone, which include some hilarious vegetarian themed thoughts.

Like a Tweet made to Paula Poundstone, suggesting dominating, Type A personality chickens ran the food research labs:

@paulapoundstone My daughter is eating vegetarian chicken nuggets. I’ll bet chickens gathered outside the lab that developed that food. “How’s it coming?”

Or one Tweet to Michael Showalter, which suggests spinach doing questionable activities:

@mshowalter Waitress just said their creamed spinach was “banging.” Now sure how I feel about that.

Twitter Wit is available September 8th.

Owen Wilson Ticks Off Unlucky Vegan Duck By Cutting In Line

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, May 22nd, 2009 in Actors, Food & Drink.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian screening in Washington.

We are happy actor Owen Wilson was spotted shopping at One Lucky Duck, an organic, raw foods establishment with a restaurant, juice bar, and much more.

We’re unsure if Owen was grabbing grub or juice when he bypassed the takeout line to place his order, but apparently this made someone else waiting in line steaming broccoli mad.

Hey, movie stars need their raw fix more, okay. It’s a stressful world out there. Don’t prove Margaret Cho right about angry vegans, now.

Dr. Phil & Robin McGraw Debut Her New Book At Kmart

Yes, indeed he did go there.

On one of his recent shows, Dr. Phil McGraw was introducing his latest Jerry Springer couple dilemma where the two had grown apart.

What potential irreconcilable differences exist? Well, one’s a darn vegan for goodness sakes!

From Vegdaily.com:

“As Mr. Oprah was welcoming the couple he finished the dramatic intro by saying, ” … and now he’s an angry atheist and vegan. (pause) Do those two go together?””

If we wanted to play Dr. Phil, we could analyze this for deeper meaning. Are vegans angry? Margaret Cho thinks so.

Yeah, nothing like sticking the tofu to your spouse to ruin the relationship.

Margaret Cho Says Watch Out For Hungry Vegans

Radar & VH1 Host A Screening Of Margaret Cho's

“And especially, especially, don`t f*ck with vegans. Do not look vegans in the eye. If you get into an argument with a vegan, say “I`m wrong”, and run away as fast as you can. Do not f*ck with vegans because they will f*ck you up… BECAUSE THEY`RE HUNGRY.”

Ha, haaaaa, Cho! Looks like Margaret thinks vegans are starving themselves, eating only sprouts and drinking  juice all day.

Someone send her the top veggie restaurant list, will ya. Let her know what’s really on our plates. And tell her we’re not hungry. She’ll believe it. Then run away from you really fast.
