Ellen Pompeo was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she discussed raising her own chickens in her backyard!

If you’re going to consume eggs, eating those from chicks that run freely in the grass versus being cramped in battery cages from large-scale farms is the best way to go.

Ellen DeGeneres is supporting a new Facebook game that allows users to earn points that go towards animal charities, including Farm Sanctuary, The Humane Society of the United States and The World Wildlife Fund.

Each point or “Joy” earned helps contribute to the many needs each individual organization may have, such as food, shelter, medicine and so forth.

The game sounds like fun because even Ellen’s cat likes to play it. That is, when she can remember the password.

Kellie Pickler was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she displayed her new hairdo!

Pickler’s sleek, almost bald look was created to support one of her closest friends who was diagnosed with cancer.

“It’s just hair!” she said. “I will be honest with you, I was a little nervous and she was too. [We thought], ‘I hope we don’t have some crazy birthmark or wort or mole or something . . . but we had fun.”

Portia de Rossi is worried that the vegan diet is working a little too well for her wife Ellen DeGeneres.

According to the National Enquirer, Ellen has lost over 10 pounds and Portia feels she’s getting too thin.

“Portia was totally on board when Ellen eliminated all refined sugars from her diet and went back to becoming a vegan. But now she feels Ellen’s looking gaunt and unhealthy – and has simply gone too far!”

Ellen DeGeneres, on the transition to a vegetarian or vegan diet. Its’ a lot easier to digest one if you attempt it baby steps. Try Meatless Mondays first. Or eating vegan for every meal except dinner. Or just go cold turkey. No pun intended.

Halo Vegan Garden Medley Dog Food

Ellen DeGeneres‘ pet food company, Halo, has unveiled a vegan dog food for animal lovers who want their dogs to eat like them.

The Vegan Garden Medley is a vegan blend of vitamins, minerals and the same essential nutrients as in meat based protein diets.

Peas and chickpeas provide digestible protein, while pearled barley, oat groats and potatoes are digestible carbohydrates and fiber. Healthy oils like canola, flaxseed and sunflower are added to the mix for good sources of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Vegan Garden Medley also contains numerous fruits and vegetables like sweet potatoes, blueberries, carrots and cranberries that provide vitamins and antioxidants.

Bill Clinton appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where he revealed what he felt were some of his greatest accomplishments, such as the William J. Clinton Foundation’s push to provide medication to children in impoverished countries.

Clinton’s greatest personal health accomplishment is adopting a vegan diet after learning it could help him reverse some of the damage heart disease has caused.

It’s also helped him look a little sleeker in his swim trunks.

“This is the third week in a row where I will weigh less than I did when I finished high school,” Clinton said.
