Yoko Ono and Heather Mills may be worlds apart in character, age, and professions, but they have one thing in common: Both were married to former members of the Beatles!

Yoko and the late John Lennon posed for a very sexy, “Give Peace A Chance,” photo that was later adapted to promote vegetarianism, starring Corey Feldman and wife Susie Feldman, the tagline changed to Give Peas a Chance.

Heather had a brief, extremely public, and tumultuous relationship with Paul McCartney that didn’t last, but we’re crossing our fingers her new vegan restaurant V Bites does.

So between the two “wives of a Beatle,” who would you rather…

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 in Actresses, Couples, Environment-Eco-Green, Reality TV, Videos.

Susie Feldman, along with husband Corey Feldman, was interviewed by theGreenGirls.com where she shared their secrets for greening both their home and work.

The Two Coreys reality TV star likens recycling to staying vegetarian by stating that because of what she knows about environmental issues, she can’t possibly look the other way.

“I almost feel I can’t throw trash away like I used to,” she says. “I feel guilty. I’m a vegetarian and I feel the same way. I could never just eat meat because of what I know. I can’t just throw away my bottles and cans in the trashcan because of what I know.”

Corey Feldman and wife Susie Sprague leaving Dantanas

Heroes’ star Milo Ventimiglia made a joke about being vegetarian since in the womb because his mother was vegetarian while carrying him and he’s always been veg.

But if Corey Feldman and wife Susie’s kid decides to work in Hollywood, he might give Milo a run for his money as being a vegetarian star since in utero.

Four year old Zen is vegetarian and has lived without meat “from conception,” as Corey calls it.

The actor, who says he spends 80% of his time doing charity work, likes to boast about how he convinced wife Susie to go veg.

Corey Feldman’s Grandparents Thought Vegetarianism Was Nuts!

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, March 25th, 2009 in Actors, Animal Issues.

Premiere Of Walt Disney Pictures Race To Witch Mountain - Arrivals

Actor Corey Feldman has some genes that make him love animals, as his mother was an animal rights advocate. Good for him for having such a compassionate mother, because grandma and grandpa thought vegetarianism was just plain tipesh!

Note: Hebrew vocab 101. Tipesh is the word for dumb, idiot, stupid…you get the point.

From an interview with Look To The Stars.org:

“By the time I was 10 years old, I was resigned to the fact the I wanted to be a vegetarian for the rest of my life. However, growing up in a strict family environment, my grandparents where old Jewish traditional type people and thought I was crazy for wanting to be a vegetarian. It took until I was about 13 years old when I made the decision to be a strict vegetarian… and have been every since, and it’s been about 24 years for me now.”

Growing up, Feldman and his mother had as many as 50 animals living with them on their ranch as a result of their obsessive dog and cat rescuing tendencies.

Nowadays, Corey lists animal rights organizations such as the Humane Society, PETA, Farm Sanctuary, and Last Chance For Animals as his top choice for charities.

Corey Feldman Says Honor The Dead Animal Gift By Wearing It

Winter Wonderland For The Animals: A Farm Sanctuary Benefit

So there are different beliefs on what constitutes being a vegetarian or vegan. Obviously, eating a hamburger makes you no sort of vegetarian, but can you be a true vegan and still have honey? And does wearing leather shoes make you a hypocrite?

Corey Feldman doesn’t think so and is fed up with media being critical when he does so. Especially when he didn’t buy the item he’s being criticized for.

“People always want to point a finger at you,” he said, in an interview with Ecorazzi. “You know I did this show years back called “The Surreal Life” and the number one thing was people giving me shit all the time because of some edited scene where I’m fighting with Gabrielle Carteris saying, “Oh well you’re wearing leather shoes,” and they never got my argument into it.”

“…if somebody gives you a pair of shoes, say for Christmas, what are you gonna do throw them in the trash because they’re leather? No, you have to honor that animal that died for it. But I’m not going to purchase it.”

Actually, that does sound reasonable. Even PETA donates fur coats to the needy, because it makes “the best of an awful situation,” after those who bought the fur decide it’s no longer ethical to wear it.

Actress Daryl Hannah has stated she only wears leather when it’s a gift, after being questioned about a pair of suede shoes she was wearing.

Moral dilemmas never have easy solutions. How do you or would you handle one like this? Do you wear wool or leather if given to you? Do you pass it along to charity? Let us know, and help everyone else make a better decision as well.

CUN's 9th Annual Awards Celebration And Viewing Dinner - Show

Farm Sanctuary, an organization created to combat issues of animal abuse on farms,  will be holding a benefit on December 4th, 2008 at the Art Director’s Club in New York City.

“Winter Wonderland,” will feature gourmet food from NYC’s best vegetarian restaurants, a silent auction, and of course, celebrities to mingle with, like Corey Feldman.

Sure hope he’s wearing more than what he was in the Give Peas a Chance ad, which played upon one John Lennon and Yoko Ono did years ago. New York’s a little cold in December for that, Corey.

Other notables you might get to rub elbows with are Jennifer Coolidge, Peter Max, Patrick McDonnell, Tatum O’Neal,
Daniela Sea, Ally Sheedy, Princess Superstar, Loretta Swit, and
Justin Theroux.

General admission tickets are $100, so if you’re a young, freshly graduated from college adult or pinching pennies, put some back from your paycheck you got TODAY. It’s for a great cause and will put you in the mood for the season.

And who knows? Corey might not be wearing much after all.
