Heather Mills Making Vegan Dog Food

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 in Business, Chefs, Food & Drink, Models.

Genesis Awards 2009

Heather Mills recently Tweeted about her plans to come out with a vegan dog food brand.

Yay for Fido, Fluffy, and Max!

Heather didn’t give any specifics when she replied to one of her followers on Twitter, just that a brand was in the works.

A vegan restaurant opening next month, frozen food products to come, and veggie dog chow in the creative draft phase. Could Heather be on her way to having her own vegan empire?

Several veg celebrities have vegan dogs, including Alicia Silverstone, Paul McCartney, and Bollywood babe Shahid Kapoor

Alicia Silverstone claims her dogs pass less gas because of their vegan diet, which some pet owners believe is the only way to go. If they won’t let an animal suffer for their own food, why should it be any different for their canine friends?

Heather Mills Vegan Meals At V-Bites Will Taste Like Meat

Heather Mills Hosts Healthy Meal Cook-A-Thon with students in The Bronx

Heather Mills‘ vegan restaurant in the UK, V-Bites, is set to open next month and Heather’s been running her vegan butt off trying to get everything ready, especially the menu.

Heather says one thing that might surprise meat eaters is that the substitute meats she’ll be cooking and serving at V-Bites will taste just like the real deal.

“What is definitely going to shock people is the meat replacements,” she told Metro. “They have a real meat taste to them.”

Fake meats come in handy for those who went veg for reasons other than disliking the taste of meat.

And there’s certainly no shortage of varieties to choose from: fake turkey, chicken, bacon, even gourmet creations like faux chicken cordon blue.

What’s your favorite fake meat?

T4 On The BeachSummer’s almost here. The sunny season marks lots of sunscreen, thongs, lemonade, and the F word. Uh, Gordon Ramsay’s F Word, that is.

The celebrity chef’s show, The F Word, follows Ramsay as he prepares three course meals at his F Word restaurant.

Rest assured Gordon will be doing much of his usual species slaughter during the show, including catching wild hogs and puffin, but at least one member of his celebrity cast moves away from the meat madness, if only for one episode.

Singer and TV personality Dannii Minogue whips up a lovely vegetarian risotto on episode 6, which is set to air on July 22nd at 9:00PM on UK Channel 4.

Gordon  may be open to the vegetarian dish, given the fact he’s expanding his horizons lately, agreeing to partake in a Reality TV show based entirely on creating plant based dishes.  Or he may critique it with his usual diatribe of profanities.

You’ll have to tune in and find out! Visit monstersandcritics.com for sneak previews of other F Word episodes.

31st Annual Outstanding Mother AwardsA super trio of journalist Maria Shriver, celebrity chef Guy Fieri, and celebrity chef Alice Waters will be getting down and dirty together tomorrow morning on the California state Capitol lawn in Sacramento.

No need to get overly excited, you pervs, they’re just planting a vegetable garden!

The WE Garden in Capitol Park is not only the first vegetable garden to be planted at the state Capitol, but the only one of its kind to be planted at a U.S. statehouse.

Looks like California’s First Lady is following the footsteps of another First Lady, Michelle Obama, who planted an organic vegetable garden on the White House South lawn.

The event is open to the public and will feature free recipes. For more information, visit sacbee.com.

Nigella Lawson Veg Benefits: Weightloss, Hubby Actually Eats Food

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, May 18th, 2009 in Chefs.

Nigella Lawson signing autographsBritish celebrity chef Nigella Lawson is just as known for her curves as she is for her cream pies.

But lately some have become concerned she’s been downing one pie too many and are afraid she’ll go from pleasantly plump to piggishly porky.

Lawson’s been a good sport, though, reportedly going to a personal trainer. Her fans are hoping she won’t go overboard. Or start eating like her vegetarian husband. From watoday.com.au:

“I hope she doesn’t turn into a size zero waif,” wrote a certain Mise, from Limerick, Ireland. “Nigella’s curves are what make her.” Another hoped she wouldn’t become “old and haggard” like husband Charles Saatchi, who turned vegetarian, swore off his wife’s food and lost 25 kilograms in the process.

What??!! Nigella’s man won’t eat her Anglo-Asian lamb salad, pancakes with wafer bacon and maple syrup, or Bulgar wheat salad with pink seared lamb (what’s up with all these baby animals, anyway?)?

If Nigella would go veg,  she sure would make things easier at home (honey, just take the lamb out of the Bulgar wheat), she’d shed those few unwanted pounds, plus have a better chance of living a long, healthier life with cabbage lovin’ Charles.

Not to mention a hot, one on one, cooking show she could team up with Heather Mills and do. Or maybe even a three-way. Pamela Anderson has expressed interest in a bikinis on the beach veggie TV series.

Heather Mills Debunks Vegan Myths At Brighton Foodie Festival

Written by Vegetarian Star on Sunday, May 17th, 2009 in Chefs, Food & Drink, Models.

Heather Mills Speaks At Viva! The Incredible Veggie ShowHeather Mills cooked up some tasty vegan recipes at the Brighton Foodie Festival this weekend. Heather recently joined Twitter because she said she wanted to share vegan recipes and “tell it exactly like it is,” and that’s exactly what she did when she spoke about veganism at the festival.

“They just think that it’s boring nut roasts and lots of hippy people who they think haven’t washed for months but they do, but that’s not what being vegan is about,” Heather said, according to the UK Daily Mail.

“It’s about being animal friendly, saving the environment and the planet. The biggest contributor of global warming is the consumption of meat and dairy, but of course they are not going to tell you that.”

Chef Heather (yes, we can officially call her that, now) gave audience members samples of leafy green and soy beefy stir fry, creamy sweetcorn chowder, and creamy nut korma with faux chicken.

The dishes were just a taste of what Heather plans to put on the menu at V-Bites, her new vegan restaurant in the UK.

Heather Mills Using Twitter To Share Vegan Recipes

Written by Vegetarian Star on Saturday, May 16th, 2009 in Celebrity Tweets, Chefs, Food & Drink, Models.

23rd Annual Genesis Awards - ArrivalsHeather Mills has just signed up on Twitter!

Tired of others impersonating her on the social networking site, Mills said she plans to use the site to share both her vegan recipes and “feelings on any number of things,” with the intention to “tell it exactly like it is”.

You can follow Heather @heatherofficial, where she’s already put up a couple of Tweets, including one about her Brighton Foodie Festival appearance today.

“I have to prepare all the food for the Brighton Foodie festival, so psyched to be invited to cook alongside some top chefs.”

Yesterday, she also made humor to the fact that the birds were Tweeting outside the first day she started Tweeting.

“Funny on my first day of twittering, the birds in my garden wake me up at 5am, twittering.”
