Russell Brand is addressing the rumor that he bought Katy Perry a tiger for their wedding, emphasizing not only is it against his ethics as a vegetarian, but it’s just plain dumb and dangerous!

“I’m a vegetarian, you don’t give people tigers, it’s stupid, it’s dangerous, and the tigers don’t like it,” Brand said.

Yes, having wild animals as pets leads to nothing but tragedy, as we’ve seen with Travis the Chimp and other stories, like the man in Harlem, New York, who kept an 8 foot long, 400-pound tiger in his apartment.

Police were tipped off when a neighbor complained of urine seeping through the floor into an adjacent apartment after kitty refused to use the little box on more than one occasion. The tiger was transferred to a sanctuary that won’t offer him a high-rise view of the city, but a more natural, safer place for him and humans.

Stephanie Pratt attended the Best Friends Animal Society Adoption Event this past weekend in Los Angeles at La Brea Tar Pits.

Pratt Tweeted and encouraged everyone to help reduce the millions of pets waiting for homes in shelters.

“If you want to adopt a pet come to the LACMA museum!!! Over 700 animals need homes!!!! I’m here playing w all the dogs :)”

If you couldn’t make it to this past weekend’s event, there’s a pet food drive designed to ensure animals in homes of need never go hungry coming up soon.

Troy Gentry, 1/2 of the musical duo Montgomery Gentry, has posted a hand-written apology for the incident involving him killing a black bear, the video of which has circulated the Internet and drawn ire from animal lovers everywhere.

However, it seems as if Troy is more sorry for simply doing something illegal to the bear that killing it in the manner in which he did and watching it slowly bleed to death. You be the judge.

In celebration of him going vegan, former president of the United States, Bill Clinton, will get his own set of “happy cows” and chickens dancing for him.

ABS-CBN News reports the event will occur when Clinton visits the Philippines capital on Wednesday to deliver a speech.

“The dancing “cow” and “chicken” will wait outside the Manila Hotel on November 10, where Clinton will deliver a keynote speech. They will hold signs that read “Be Like Bill: Grill Veggies, Not Meat” and “Chicks Love Slim Vegan Bill!,” recognizing the former US President’s efforts to stay healthy for his future grandchildren.”

Will Bill join the characters and show off his new vegan athletic prowess by doing the funky no-slaughter chicken?

Diane Keaton makes time for community activism in between raising children and reciting lines on screen. These are just as equally important as her acting, as she told MSNBC her outside interests were included as goals for her future career.

“I’m on the board of the Los Angeles Conservancy. I care about buildings and I care about restoring buildings and I care about protecting buildings from being torn down. I’m an animal advocate. I’m on the board of the Helen Woodward Animal Center, which is down in San Diego, a leading proponent of the no-kill situation for dogs and pets and people, adopt a dog, you know.”

The Los Angeles Conservancy has worked to defend some of the historic areas as LA designated through HPOZ, or Historic Preservation Overlay Zones. At times, some residents have fought HPOZ, stating it hurts their ability to make a building more eco-friendly, but according to the Conservancy, just the opposite is true.

“We’ve all seen how drastic alterations, teardowns, and McMansions can destroy a historic neighborhood’s unique character.”

We’ve already discovered that Steve Wynn has changed his will to include donations to the Humane Society if he should go to that big casino in the sky anytime soon.

Wynn insists he’s nowhere near that point, but still wanted to show his concern for animals.

He told Las Vegas Weekly:

“I’ve become an animal rights activist. I’m taken care of myself for the rest of my life. So I decided to change my will the last few days in case I croak. I’m not about to, and I’m not planning on that for a long time. But I’ve changed my will to show my concern for animal rights.”

Wynn explained that conditions found in factory farms were some of the motivators to change his diet and will.

Pamela Anderson would like to meet with Jewish leaders in Israel to persuade them to ban the use of fur in traditional Hasic headwear, reports E! online.

Anderson is visiting the country as a guest judge for its version of “Dancing With The Stars.”

While stating that Israel was a “progressive nation” and an “example for the rest of the world,” the former Baywatch actresses said it’s time for a change when it comes to wearing animals to represent one’s sect.

“It’s almost 2011. There are so many alternatives to things,” she said. “We can be compassionate in our choices.”

A bill that would potentially restrict the use of fur in headwear has been placed on hold due to a large percentage of voters being Hasidic. But some anti-fur organizations have found a large majority of the Israeli public would like to do away with fur completely.

Simone Reyes, the vegan power gal and assistant to Russell Simmons, will be featured in action on this week’s “Running Russell Simmons,” the new series documenting Simmons daily life.

Several months ago, Reyes participated in a PETA demonstration in New York’s Times Square where she was drenched in fake blood and packaged to resemble the cuts of meat found in a supermarket.
