Katy Perry‘s single “Roar” has a video to accompany it that makes animal rights activists cry wild.

The singer is featured dressed in a Tarzan-like costume in the midst of several animals, including monkeys and elephants.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has questioned the company it suspects Perry sourced the animals from.

Katy Perry filmed the video to her single, Part of Me, at the U.S.’s Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. The song is about a woman who decides to enlist after learning her boyfriend has cheated on her.

Perry got into the role by going through drills and eating lots of vegetarian MREs–Meals Ready To Eat–standard entrees served to service men and women.

“I had the vegetarian barbecue chicken or something,” Perry said. “It’s actually really good. It tasted like a McRib.”

The best part about summer? Summer concerts of course! The worst part about summer concerts? The excessive ticket fees for everything from parking to the privilege of going to the bathroom in a modern facility vs. the woods in the back. Wouldn’t it at least be great to know all that money you’re shoving out to see Katy Perry shake her hips is going for a good cause?

If you buy your tickets from Tickets for Charity, at least you’ll be helping out some great charitable organizations like the Humane Society of the United States.

Katy Perry‘s on the cover of Italian magazine Grazia’s latest issue and inside she shares her plans for this holiday weekend’s dinner with newlywed husband Russell Brand.

“There will be me and Russ and a pink Christmas tree and a tofu-urky. We’ll open one present the night before because that’s the tradition in my family. And we’ll do something new. We’ll start our own new tradition because we are a family now.”

Could that new tradition include eating veg throughout the entire year and not just during the holidays?

The couple has reportedly also given up dairy at least until the end of the year and both have been eating a diet of plant-based proteins like tofu and raw vegetables to get in better shape.

What’s your veg tradition for the holidays?

Katy Perry Russell Brand Give Up Dairy

Katy Perry and Russell Brand

Russell Brand and Katy Perry are already making important couple decisions together.

The newlyweds have embarked on a healthier diet, giving up dairy and eating a raw diet of vegetables and tofu as part of their mission to get fit by the end of the year.

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if Brand, already a vegetarian, and Perry gave up dairy for good?

Besides the cruelty to animals as dairy cows are often confined to crowded areas in factory farms and forced to give unnaturally high amounts of milk through hormones and machinery, some studies have suggested dairy doesn’t do a bovine or a human body good. The website NotMilk.com has conveniently listed some potential consequences of dairy from A-Z, with sources cited.

Like an episode of Sesame Street, let’s learn what the letters in today’s lesson stand for.

A is for alleriges: “Most formula fed infants developed symptoms of ALLERGIC rejection to cow milk proteins before one month of age. About 50-70% experienced rashes or other skin symptoms, 50-60 percent gastrointestinal symptoms, and 20-30 percent respiratory symptoms. The recommended therapy is to avoid cow’s milk.”

I is for Iron Defienciency: “Cow’s milk can cause blood loss from the intestinal tract, which over time, reduces the body’s iron stores. Blood loss may be a reaction to cow’s milk proteins.”

Russell Brand Won’t Keep Tiger In Apartment With Him And Katy (Video)

Russell Brand

Russell Brand is addressing the rumor that he bought Katy Perry a tiger for their wedding, emphasizing not only is it against his ethics as a vegetarian, but it’s just plain dumb and dangerous!

“I’m a vegetarian, you don’t give people tigers, it’s stupid, it’s dangerous, and the tigers don’t like it,” Brand said.

Yes, having wild animals as pets leads to nothing but tragedy, as we’ve seen with Travis the Chimp and other stories, like the man in Harlem, New York, who kept an 8 foot long, 400-pound tiger in his apartment.

Police were tipped off when a neighbor complained of urine seeping through the floor into an adjacent apartment after kitty refused to use the little box on more than one occasion. The tiger was transferred to a sanctuary that won’t offer him a high-rise view of the city, but a more natural, safer place for him and humans.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry finally tied the knot recently in a ceremony that was vegan, according to several sources around the web.

The animals are thankful they weren’t eaten, but according to Ecorazzi, they may have wanted a little peace in the early morning hours, as Russell and Katy’s after party may have violated noise ordinances.

After the traditional Hindu wedding, guests stayed in the nearby Ranthambore National Park. Some of the guests reportedly played loud music until 2:30 AM, which violates state mandated noise pollution laws as it disturbs the wild animals in the area.
