Glenn Beck

As you can probably guess from the title of this post, that’s not a veggie burger Glenn Beck is stuffing himself with.

During a trip to Israel, Beck ended his vegan diet with hamburgers and ice cream.

Although he originally adopted a standard vegan diet for health reasons, according to his post on glennbeck.com, it appears he also was trying to eat raw for a certain period of time.

Roger Ebert

“Here is a film that could save your life.”

“What every human being should do is eat a vegetarian diet based on whole foods. Period. That’s it. Animal protein is bad for you. Dairy is bad for you. Forget the ads: Milk and eggs are bad for you. Skim milk is no better, because it contains proportionately more animal protein. What you’re trying to avoid is dietary cholesterol. You also need to cut way down on salt and sugar, and run like hell from high fructose corn syrup.”

“The bottom line: I am convinced this message is true. A plant-based whole foods diet is healthy.”

Roger Ebert, in a review of the documentary Forks Over Knives at the Chicago Sun-Times.

Dogs Deserve Better

A Pennsylvania based animal rights group is getting ready to close a deal to buy Michael Vicks former home that was the headquarters to dog fighting activities he was convicted for.

Like several of Vick’s former dogs that were given a second chance on life, Dogs Deserve Better has been given another opportunity to purchase the home and is expected to close the deal for a loan towards the end of May.

Forks Over Knives Nearest Theater

An extremely nifty tool was creator by one of Vegetarian Star’s Twitter followers @jrhicks.

The documentary that examines the claim that a plant-based diet can cure and reverse heart disease, Forks Over Knives, is out in select theaters across the United States. For some, it’s a matter of taking the train or driving a few miles, but for others, as the locator states, it’s a matter of “contemplating a road trip.”

At least that road trip is now a lot easier with detailed driving instructions, mileage, driving time and a map using Google Maps.
