Mishka is a talking Huskie who entertained The Today Show viewers with her human vocabulary of “Hello,” “I’m hungry,” and “I love you.”

Not bad. Most animal lovers talk to their pets, but do four-legged family members comprehend what they’re saying?

Jamie Oliver put his culinary skills to good use recently when he prepared a vegan meal for Captain Paul Watson and the rest of the Sea Shepherd crew while they stayed in London.

The Captain wrote on his Facebook page, “A very big thank-you to Chef Jamie Oliver for treating the entire crew of the Steve Irwin to a free vegan dinner at Jamie’s Italian restaurant at Canary Wharf last night.”

Kesha is now the Humane Society International’s first global ambassador.

According to the Humane Society of the United States, the purpose of the partnership is to, “promote respect, protection, and compassion for animals around the world.”

One way the vegetarian TiK ToK singer is accomplishing this is by using her fan base to raise money for animal charities.

She’s donated her time and money to animal welfare organizations like Humane Society and sanctuaries like The Gentle Barn, but would you call her an activist?

Maybe a “compassionist” would better define her.
