Sting

Sting recently gave his support to Ric O’Barry, former dolphin trainer who was featured in “The Cove,” during a meeting backstage at one of his concerts.

Before the concert, Sting told the Associated Press he was blown away by the movie and that humans “should not be eating dolphins.”

Blinders Movie

Mayor Bloomberg declared a weather emergency in New York City, asking that cars stay off the roads so they could be cleared. With inches of snow and frigid temperatures, it wasn’t a time for anyone to be out unless they had to. Yet, some horse-drawn carriages were still seen trying to make their way through the streets, getting stuck in the snow in the process.

Lipton Tea Stops Testing On Animals

Activism works. And sometimes it works quite quickly.

Last month, we brought you the news about Lipton conducting animal tests with its teas in an effort to prove the beverage treated several ailments like high cholesterol and bowel issues. Unilever, the parent company of Lipton, has made the announcement it is no longer conducting these tests on animals, which included specifically breeding the animals to have certain medical conditions and purposely exposing them to toxins to see if Lipton tea would cure these conditions.

Brian Greene

Brian Greene, a theoretical physicist best known for his work with string theory, was recently on “The Colbert Report” to discuss parallel universes. You know, the same stuff you spend hours talking about at the bars.

Greene has been a consultant on shows such as “3rd Rock From The Sun” to ensure Hollywood knows what it’s talking about when it incorporates scientific information in episodes.

Colbert pokes fun of the recentĀ Taco Bell lawsuit over the beef content of its tacos saying, “Is there a universe where Taco Bell serves beef?”

Greene replies that as a vegan, he doesn’t even want to think about it.

Last we heard, Greene was still searching the universe for the ultimate vegan pizza.
