Lynyrd Skynyrd band members discussed their favorite BBQ spots during an interview with FUSE.

Guitarist Rickey Medlocke said, “You gotta understand something: There’s different BBQ for different sections of the South. Texas has their own kind, Memphis has their own kind, Florida has their own kind, and the Carolinas, too.”

So which part of the South has the best vegetarian BBQ? Johnny van Zant‘s daughter would probably know.

Michelle Obama invited kids from each of the 50 states and their families to the first ever kids White House State Dinner. The children were winners in the First Lady’s Healthy Lunch Contest, where they were encouraged to create recipes from whole foods, emphasizing fresh fruits and vegetables and grains.

One attendee and winner, 8-year-old Finwe Wiedenhoeft from Mineral Point, Wisconsin, has a terrific flexitarian story behind the family’s winning Barbecue Cheddar Chickpea Burger recipe.

The shift towards a plant-based diet comes after a visit to the hospital for heart attack symptoms. O’Donnell O’Donnell learned her left anterior descending artery was 99-percent blocked. The comedian is also using this experience to speak out on the heart attack symptoms of women vs. men.
