Vegetarian Star

Shania Twain has accomplished quite a bit in the world of country music. She’s been named Entertainer of the Year by both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association, has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame and in her hometown in Ontario, Canada, Twain has a street named after her.

She can also whip up a mean tofu scramble in only 5 minutes.

Now that DOES impress us much.

The results of the 2008 VegNews poll are finally tallied and appear in the November/December issue of the magazine.

Natalie Portman won favorite vegan celebrity. After looking at this pic, wow, it’s not hard to see why. But in all seriousness, Nat’s not just a beauty on the outside. A Harvard graduate, actress, not to mention an eco-friendly business woman with her own line of Te Casan shoes. And she’s still single. No, we don’t have her number so don’t email us about it.

School’s been back in session for a little over a month (in places where there’s summer break) and it’s time to show who’s made progress.

Sprig.com has graded the top vegan celebrities. Moby and Chrissie Hynde are serving as valedictorians, both receiving an A+ and no one got anything less than a B-.

The class consists of the following celebrity vegan pupils: Natalie Portman, Casey Affleck, Joaquin Phoenix (who only had one bad pizza experience, and it wasn’t in the school cafeteria), Russell Simmons, Alicia Silverstone, Prince, Shania Twain, Moby, Chrissie Hynde, Chris Martin, Pam Anderson, Andre 3000 Benjamin, and Tobey Maguire.

Oh, and of course, there’s plenty of school pictures. Only they look waaaay better than any of us did in ours.
