Quantcast Vegetarian StarKevin Nealon Says Vegetarian Restaurant Eating Has Improved

Kevin Nealon

Kevin Nealon has been a vegetarian for years and remembers the days when eating so at a restaurant meant french fries and salad. Thankfully, much has changed.

“It’s definitely become easier,” said Nealon. “Restaurants are finally getting their act together and offering vegetarian courses. Some of the food tastes just like meat, too; it’s brilliant.”

Vegetarian dining out is so glamorous, everyone in Hollywood can recommend their favorite spot. The comedian and Weeds actor has gotten advice from actors not even known for promoting vegetarianism. And Nealon has his favorite go to spots when he’s visiting a city.

“Brad Garrett recommended Il Mulino New York to me inside [The Forum Shops at] Caesars, and I love that place,” Nealon said. “They have this huge block of cheese that I’m not sure how long they cut from, but it’s a lot of fun. Between that, the fresh bread and the cheese ravioli, I always walk out satisfied. Also, every time I drive to Vegas I always go to Peggy Sue’s 50’s Diner. It’s just so kitschy; people even get married there. And the milkshakes are great, too. It’s a real oasis in the desert.”

Were you a vegetarian back in the days of veggie burgers that tasted like cardboard and ice lettuce being the star entree on the menu? How do you feel things have changed?
