Premiere Of ESPN Films & Walt Disney Pictures X Games 3D: The Movie

In a recent interview with Britain’s Elle magazine, Pamela Anderson announced she’s leaning into the vegan zone.

I’ve never dieted, but I’m cooking vegan now and I think that helps.”

Way to go for Pamela!

A longtime animal rights activist and vegetarian, Pamela can make an even bigger impact in the veg community if she decides to go completely animal-free!

Cooking vegan isn’t hard, but it might take some time in the kitchen for you to get it down right. A few good cookbooks are helpful, like Vegan Planet, The Joy Of Vegan Baking, or The Voluptuous Vegan.

Here’s a list of a few more vegan cookbooks to get you started.

Bethenny Frankel Mocks Gwyneth Paltrow’s Cooking Skills

Bethenny Frankel Visits Macy?s Herald Square

Well…

We certainly know who thinks she’s the “Real Housewife” here.

Bethenny Frankel recently took the opportunity to diss Gwyneth Paltrow’s attempts to demonstrate cooking dishes.

From nydailynews.com:

“I’d rather staple my eyelids shut than watch Gwyneth cook,” the chef told us during the launch of her bottled Skinnygirl Margaritas at the Montauk Yacht Club on Saturday.

She added, “Gwyneth is afraid to [reveal] who she really is – she’s so manhandled by publicists and managers. Her show would be way too boring to watch.”

It’s getting hot in the kitchen!

We have chided Gwyneth so many times for her professing to follow a vegetarian diet, then recommending all sorts of meaty dishes on her Goop.com website.

On the other hand, Bethenny has long been a favorite celebrity chef for including so many vegetarian and vegan recipes in her repertoire.

Neither are vegetarians. But at least Bethenny doesn’t pretend to be. Not to mention she’ll be showing her homemade buns for the animals real soon.

BTW, here’s an example of one of Bethenny’s vegan delights, Low Fat Fudge Chocolate Chip Muffins. Grab the recipe, here!

Bob Barker Blogs For Bears On CNN.Com

Bob Barker Signs Copies Of Priceless Memories

Bob Barker has made ongoing efforts to end the suffering of the caged bears on display at various tourist attractions in Cherokee, North Carolina, including meeting with Principal Chief Michell Hicks of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation.

Now he’s taking his stance on Larry King’s CNN blog in hopes of reaching an even bigger audience.

“The good people of Cherokee welcomed me warmly, and many told me they agreed that the bears are kept in deplorable conditions. Bears are very intelligent, active and curious animals. They need room to roam, natural surroundings to investigate and opportunities to forage, climb and dig dens.”

“Earlier in my career, I hosted a show called Truth or Consequences. I closed the show by saying, “… hoping all your consequences are happy ones!” I hope with all my heart that Chief Hicks and the tribal council will make the consequences for the Cherokee bears happy ones. Until then, my heart and my conscience won’t allow me to do anything but ask people to stay away from Cherokee and voice their support for allowing the bears to retire to a sanctuary.”

Fall Out Boy – Asia Update 3 from clandestine on Vimeo.

Jared Leto isn’t the only one who can save a spider from the death penalty.

Fall Out Boy was hanging out in South Korea when a spider was spied in one of their rooms.

After contemplating what to do with it, including placing it in Cobra Starship’s dressing room, the great veg man Patrick Stump caught the spider and returned it to its proper environment.

Apparently, there are vegetarian spiders who pass on the ants and go for the greens instead.

Learn something new everyday!

Watch the clip above to see Patrick and the boys in action. The hardcore spider action starts around minute 3:30.

“This year, we’re starting to make our own raspberry ice cream at Dirt Candy and will use Cascadian Farm berries. They’re never bland-they have a pure raspberry flavor that rivals fresh berries. In fact, they’re so sweet, hey need little or no added sugar, even if you eat them plain.”

Amanda Cohen, former chef for Moby’s Teany and owner and chef of Dirt Candy vegetarian restaurant in New York city.

Amanda was one of several chefs asked by Vegetarian Times what organic products could be found in their kitchens.

Cascadian Farm not only has the organic raspberries you need this summer, but all the other vegetables you need to eat until your pesticide-free heart is content.

The Pretenders Perform In Madrid

Chrissie Hynde recently interviewed with the New York Post, where she mentioned how successful her vegan restaurant, The Vegiterranean, is in her hometown of Akron, Ohio.

Located in the heart of the midwest, Chrissie couldn’t have picked a less veg friendly region-unless we’re talking about a cattle ranch town!

But two years later, The Vegiterranean is still going strong.

A few highlights from the interview:

Akron seems like a meat-eating kind of town. How has your vegan menu been received?

Everyone told me, “Don’t do it.” I had a resounding chorus of “You will go under” from all corners. But it’s been a huge success. And you’re right, it’s a real meat-eating town. I’m actually still surprised when I meet a meat eater. It makes so little sense, especially now that everybody knows the score as far as the treatment of the animals, the factory farms and the environment — not to mention the health implications. Why go to the gym every day when you can just eat right? I mean, look how gorgeous I am, and I don’t do anything.

How are people responding to what you’re doing there?

It’s funny, because yesterday I was thinking, what am I doing this for? I was feeling kind of isolated. And then I went to the restaurant, and six different groups of people walked up and said, “We’ve come in from out of town because we wanted to see the restaurant. You should put one in our city, because we really need it.” And I thought, it’s working. I was quite stunned.

The First Family Arrives At The White House - Washington

Okay, so we’re a little nasty with the headline, but geez…

Hope for little Sasha and Malia Obama is running low as burger runs seem to be on both sides of the family.

First lady Michelle Obama was spotted with daughters Sasha and Malia eating at Good Stuff Eatery, a D.C. burger joint owned by former Top Chef contestant Spike Mendelsohn.

According to Justjared.buzznet.com, the Obama ladies ordered their cheeseburgers cooked medium with onion rings, fries, and milkshakes while the Secret Service agents looked on without eating.

Hey, those that protect the political family need to at least keep their arteries clean.

We wish Mrs. Obama would just stick to eating from her garden.
