Growing up, everyone had a favorite meal they’d routinely request from chef mom.

Bethenny Frankel’s toddler Brynn may not always be able to vocalize what she wants yet, but not spitting up or throwing these lentil burgers in mom’s face is a sure sign she’s happy with what Bethenny is serving from the home menu.

Bethenny Frankel hooked up with Ellen DeGeneres on her show to demonstrate making vegan cupcakes with vegan cream cheese frosting.

“I always try to do the vegan thing first because it is healthier,” Frankel says. “And you feel good about yourself.”

Frankel feels a little better about herself for shunning refined sugars and flours as well. Instead of white flour and white sugar, Bethenny opts for raw sugar and oat flour.

“It’s not a racist thing,” Frankel jokes. “Go against white–when baking.”

Not to mention many white sugars aren’t technically vegan, as these are often processed with animal bone char. Other Frankel suggestions include making your cupcake portion sizes like A cup breasts versus D cups. You’ll have to watch the clip for that full explanation.

Why is it a good idea to stay away from white when eating? Dr. Michael Roizen of the Cleveland Clinic, explains.

Bethenny Frankel is unveiling holiday greeting cards she’s created using templates from Cafe Press, a company specializing in custom printed products and holiday gifts. Each week, Bethenny will feature a card she created using one of Cafe Press’ templates. Recently, Bethenny created a card using a template that benefits the animals rights group PETA.

“I’m so excited about my CafePress family holiday card and invite to my second-annual tree trimming party. I’m a huge supporter of PETA, so I love that my design benefits their organization. I used a photo of my first child, Cookie aka dabooboo, and I’m sending it to friends, family and business contacts to spread holiday cheer. I chose the invitation design and added in the party details which only took two minutes!”

Anyone wishing to create their personalized card can do so at Cafe Press and choose their charity of choice that will benefit, which includes Greenpeace, Breastcancer.org., Operation Gratitude and Rock The Vote.

Three celebrities revealed the Shape a few secrets to maintaining a diet in an otherwise snack laden world.

Actually, it’s not bad to snack, and Cheryl Burke, Bethenny Frankel and Alison Sweeney all gave some fantastic tips that involve incorporating vegetarian foods into your diet that keep you full and away from the bad stuff.

Cheryl Burke Says Get The Dairy Out At Restaurants:
“I ask for restaurant dishes to be made with olive oil rather than butter or for them to hold the cheese. If they can’t accommodate me, I find something else on the menu.”

Bethenny Frankel Says Get Your Grains On:
“Incorporate them whenever possible. If the topping tastes decadent—say, a whole-grain baguette with sautéed mushrooms, truffle oil, and Pecorino Romano—no one will feel cheated.”

Alison Sweeney Says Keep Veggies Within Reach:
“If you clean them, cut them up, and put them in a bowl, they’ll get eaten. Right now my son, Ben, is loving red bell peppers and sugar snap peas.”
