Venus Williams, on her near vegan diet she adopted after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. Venus has invented yet another term for the flexitarian eater that includes part-time vegetarian, vegan until 6 and now, the “cheagan” or cheatin’ vegan.

“We do Meatless Monday at my house. We’ve done it for about a year and a half. Going meatless isn’t necessarily so much of a political statement, it’s about changing your diet and finding interesting ways to eat different things. On Sundays I start thinking about what I’m going to make because I want to make sure the kids are satisfied and interested and part of the game.”

Mario Batali, during a recent episode of the ABC cooking show he co-hosts, The Chew.
