Celebrity brand food is super cool, especially when the stars take time to produce a product that’s better for humanity and the environment.

Rob Zombie has announced his new line of organic, fair-trade coffees, which are currently available in pre-order status and will ship just in time for New Year’s on December 27th, 2010.

The coffee is available in two varieties, the Hellbilly Brew Organic French Roast and the Hellbilly Brew Organic Peru, both of which are 100% certified organic and certified fair-trade.

Here’s a description of the Peru Blend:
“From the tall peaks of the Andes to the tropical forests of the Amazon Basin, Peruvian coffees are as distinct as their birthplace. Featuring 100% Certified Organic, Fair Trade Certified beans, this incredible single-origin coffee supports the battle against social and environmental challenges. Olivia Wilde "Women'sHealth Magazine"

Tomorrow Olivia Wilde‘s Women’s Health cover hits the stands, and as much as men everywhere are excited about what’s on the outside, we’re bomb-diggitied about the recipe Wilde shares inside.

Wilde joked to a Flaunt photograher that she’d never be super skinny because of all the pasta she eats regularly with her Italian husband, and her Bomb-Diggity “Bolognese” shared with Women’s Health featuring tempeh for the “meat” might be what she dreams of getting fat off, which could still be hard given pasta is full of good carbs that give you energy and not love handles.

In a hilarious video we can’t watch enough times, Santa Claus is seen making changes to his naughty and nice list after seeing so many anti-veg artifacts in one little girl’s home.

Leather, fur, dairy milk, McDonald’s and KFC are enough to make him revolt Public Enemy style.

Chuck D, who’s participated in some animal activism himself, would be proud.

Jamie Oliver Is A Biweekly Vegetarian. Advice For Aspiring Flexitarians.

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, December 17th, 2010 in Chefs, Flexitarian, Food & Drink.

Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver has made himself an accidental vegetarian a few days a week because he can’t pry himself away from the salad bar.

“I’m probably vegetarian a couple of days a week, not on purpose but really just because I love eating vegetables and salad. I admire vegetarians, but I’m too much of a meat lover to ever become full-time vegetarian.”

Staunch vegans sometimes get upset by those who are willing to only give up meat part-time, but numbers do not lie. Two part time vegetarians in one household equals one full time one. And if 3-4 people ate veg twice a week like Jamie, that’s the equivalent of one person eating vegetarian every day of the week! Jamie’s love of salads works for him, but there are numerous ways to contribute to part-time vegetarianism or encourage your meat eating friends and relatives to do so. Here are a few ways you may not have considered to reduce your meat intake, improve your health, lighten your environmental footprint and reduce animal suffering.

Veg actress Olivia Wilde is on the latest cover of Women’s Health Magazine.

You’ll want to pick this up next week on December 21st when it’s available on the stands because inside, there’s a recipe for one of Olivia’s favorite vegan pasta recipes featuring tempeh.

Yum!

She also shares with the mag that she enjoys picking  up “leafy things” from either the farmers’ market or her personal garden.

Now’s a good time to locate your nearest market through the Local Harvest Directory, which also makes finding natural foods stores, local farms and other sustainable producers as easy as a click of the mouse.

Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is still justifying her caribou kill on her TLC show, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” by arguing she’s feeding her family with stuff’s that’s healthier than what’s in the supermarket.

During an interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, Palin explained her stance.

“We eat, therefore we hunt — and I am thankful that I get to feed my kids organic food,” Palin said.

However, studies have shown that wild game isn’t really that organic after all, and could contain dangerous levels of lead due to the way it’s killed in the wild. The Department of Natural Resources has warned against eating wild game because of this and a study conducted by British and Spanish researchers published in the journal PLos ONE found similar results.

Carla Hall

The Tom’s of Maine Wicked Fresh! Live Chat series went a little different than expected. While we were hoping “Top Chef All Stars” Carla Hall would do some cooking, she actually spent the hour answering questions from Facebook on food.

Which is still great, because Carla answered a question from Vegetarian Star about her favorite vegetarian or vegan dish and gave our site some love in the process!

Carla said right now she is really into root vegetables, so she loves to take rutabagas, turnips, carrots and parsnips and roast them in garlic and olive oil, throwing in some onions and simmering it all in vegetable broth. Then, toss in some tofu cubes. She also loves butternut squash soup and gave some great advice for a non-dairy substitute for cream.
