Selena Gomez

Animals and entertainment don’t always mix well, so when singer Pink heard Selena Gomez‘s music video for “Love You Like a Love Song,” involved painting a horse pink, she Tweeted her disapproval.

“If there are any animal activists around Malibu- at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video. Shame.”

But Gomez tells a different story. She says the paint was harmless and the event was overseen by an animal welfare agency.

Yotam Ottolenghi Apologizes For Fishy Vegetarian Comment

Yotam Ottolenghi told the New York Times, “Vegetarians in general don’t like me.”

Well, what’s not to like about the 40-something chef who’s recently released a cookbook dedicated entirely to vegetables and wrote a column for The Guardian titled, “The New Vegetarian” for four years?

Oh, yeah. He gave everybody permission to call themselves “vegetarian” when he said there were no boundaries anymore.

Since that comment generated a lot of bad publicity from the veg community, including the UK Vegetarian Society, he’s backed down. But he still doesn’t understand what he did wrong.

Dexter star Julie Benz, Eva Longoria and Alyssa Milano are sending Tweets out in support of a petition to make animal cruelty a more severely punishable crime.

“Please sign… Will You Support Harsher Penalties For Animal Abuse? Need 5,000 signatures lets make a difference together!” Benz Tweeted, with a link to the petition during a Twitter message.

The petition started after the publicity that generated when a woman allegedly threw a dog 19 stories down a garbage chute and left him for dead.

An Egyptian Cobra has escaped from its enclosure at the Bronx Zoo, but wherever he may be located, there’s definitely a Wi Fi signal. @BronxZooCobra has been Tweeting away and recently asked for recommendations for a vegan restaurant.

Jonathan Mann is known for writing a different song each day, making anywhere from $100-$500 for the projects he does for other people, including one for Steve Jobs to explain what to do if you don’t like your iphone dropping calls.

Mann, a vegan, has penned song #810 titled, “Vegan Myths Debunked,” where he sings a duet with Ivory King discussing where to get protein, calcium and answers all the questions omnivores asks like, “Then, why I do I have these teeth,” referring to the assumption human mouths are best designed to tear meat apart.
