Mark Zuckerberg

“While I understand those natural reactions to the killing of these creatures, I think we owe Zuckerberg some plaudits, not only for reminding people that eating meat involves the killing of animals, but also for recognizing that it’s morally dubious to simply pass the “dirty work” off to an anonymous slaughter plant worker. Indeed, we should ask ourselves if there’s really much of an ethical difference between killing an animal (what Zuckerberg is doing) and paying others to kill animals for us (what most of us do).”

Ron Artest Jimmy Kimmel prank

Ron Artest has never hesitated to lend his face to helping animals, such as when he helped PETA urge pet owners to spay and neuter their 4-legged friends. So when Jimmy Kimmel decided play a joke on Artest by tricking him to do a PSA for a phony animal charity called “Critters United,” it was all too easy to get a few good laughs.

Of course Artest loves animals, but even the greatest animal lover in the world might be a little uneasy working with the unusual co-stars of the PSA, which include a python, a large bird, a possum and even a, ahem, “bear.”

Watch the video below for four minutes of hilarity.

Joan Jett

“I’ve seen the video footage released by Animal Defenders International that shows the owners and trainers with HTWT as they hit elephants as hard as they can with bullhooks and use electric shocks on the animals’ bellies. You can hear a grown elephant who bellows in pain and a baby who cries out while being jabbed repeatedly in the mouth and hit over the head. Please don’t allow the reputation of the fair to be tarnished by its support of cruel elephant rides.”

Joan Jett, in a letter to organizers of the San Diego county fair. The fair is offering elephant rides with animals provided by the entertainment company, Have Trunk Will Travel. HTWT has been found by undercover animal rights investigations to use cruel methods to train its animals, including the use of bullhooks, a practice recently banned in Atlanta.

Nestea Brews Animal Tested Tea And More Cruelty-Free Options

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, June 9th, 2011 in Animal Issues, Business, Food & Drink.

Nestea

Lipton finally agreed to stop animal testing in an attempt to prove its product cured human health problems. Now another major tea company has been discovered to conduct similar tests that are not required by any regulatory authorities to prove the tea’s safety.

Not to mention it would probably be a lot easier and effective to have people drink bottles of its product to see if they got better.

Brace yourself for the details of what Nestea puts mice through that’s even worse than drinking its flavorless diet Green Tea.
