Ricky Gervais has joined fellow actor Owain Yeoman in the fight to convince British store Fortnum and Mason to remove foie gras from its shelves.

Gervais has written a letter to officials at Fortnum, asking them to stop selling the delicacy that is obtained by forcing ducks and geese to overeat so much their livers swell abnormally.

When it comes to the relationship between humans and animals, exotic animals may get the worst end of the deal.

Whether it’s being kept–sometimes illegally–in an unnatural environment as a pet or road show exhibit or on a hit list for the myths it will cure some medical problem, when the exotic animal makes the news, it–unfortunately–usually isn’t for something good.

The pescatarian and musician Henry Rollins will be the host of a National Geographic show that will highlight humans and their interactions with exotic animals, Underworld.

An annual art show benefiting Sea Shepherd Conservation Society will once again open its doors this weekend to expose dozens of creative artists, live music and a chance to speak with marine life activist and star of Animal Planet’s Whale Wars, Paul Watson.

The Sea No Evil Art show will take place at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside, California on Saturday June 25th, 2011.

British actor Dominic West, known for his role in the HBO series The Wire, wants to keep factory farms out of Britain.

Midlands Pigs Producer would like to create a large-scale farm housing 2,500 sows and 20,000 piglets in Derbyshire, a move West says threatens human health, the environment and small farmers supporting both themselves the community.

Owain Yeoman is not just a pretty face who plays a crime investigator on television. The Mentalist actor knows when something smells fowl in real life too.

Like when geese are forced to eat to the point of discomfort and physical trauma for someone’s plate of foie gras.

Yeoman recently protested a popular British store’s decision to keep foie gras on the shelves, even though many food stores in the country like Selfridges have banned it.

The King’s Speech producer Emile Sherman is known for creating an Academy Award nominated film portraying King George VI and his battle to overcome stuttering.

But it may not be as well known that Sherman is also the force behind one of Australia’s biggest animal welfare organizations, Voiceless, which Sherman established in only a year after seeing video footage of factory farms during a United States animal rights conference.

Amanda Beard is helping the frogs this summer by making sure they have as great an experience in the pool as she did during the Olympics.

The swimmer who stripped down to her original bathing suit to protest fur for PETA purchased the Frog Saver Lily Pad in case any toads or frogs accidentally end up going for a swim and find themselves unable to escape.
