“I am not a vegetarian, but I don’t eat meat very often. First of all, I don’t want to make any declarations like that. Look, If I’m in Cleveland at 3 in the morning and I’m hungry and the only thing I can get is a room service turkey burger, I’m going to get it. But for my own health, meat is probably not the best thing for me. I eat meat like people in the Middle Ages, only on feast days. Staffers at Good.is, a magazine co-founded by Inc. Magazine creator Bernie Goldhirsh that promotes individuals, businesses, non-profits and other people making a change for the better in areas like health, environment, food and politics, have pledged to go some form of vegetarian for the month of June.

There are weekday vegetarian aspirations, lunchtime only vegetarians, vegetarians looking to give up fish and a vegetarian who admits he can only begin the pledge after he returns from vacation in Hawaii.

Never mind the published data indicating eating red meat, processed meat and dead animal flesh in general significantly increases the risk of developing diabetes in men and women. Never mind the published data showing vegetarians are less likely to have diabetes as the cause of death than meat eaters.

The American Diabetes Association has responded to Steve-O boycotting its fundraiser event because meat was on the menu, basically saying, “It’s cool. Meat’s not bad at all.”

Demi Moore Wants Bullhooks Banned From Circus Elephants (Video)

Demi Moore is standing up for circus elephants in Georgia. The handlers of the circus are currently allowed to use bullhooks on the animals, but the Fulton County Board of Commissioners is taking a vote on Wednesday that would forbid trainers from doing what is already banned in county zoos and sanctuaries.
