Jenny McCarthy Vegan: Rachael Ray Block Party Announcement

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, September 10th, 2009 in Actresses, Comedians, Food & Drink, Models.

Jenny McCarthy Hosts An Evening At Pure

Surprising news of all news.

Jenny McCarthy has publicly stated that she’s a vegan.

Celebrity chef Rachael Ray threw a Big Block Party in Jenny’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois to kick off her 4th season of the Rachael Ray Show that will air September 14 at 10 AM.

According to chicagotribune.com, Jenny and Rachael engaged in some chit chat and Jenny made suggestions for her hometown favorite foods.

Jenny recommended pizza from Giordanos.

“You’ve got to try the sausage one,” McCarthy suggested, “even though I’m now vegan.”

Hopefully, Jenny knows what vegan means and she’s not one of those chicken eating vegetarians like Eve.

Jenny has been outspoken on autism and her son, and some people believe switching an autistic child to a vegan, gluten-free diet improves symptoms.

Jenny has even recommended vegan, gluten-free Nana’s Cookies as one of her preferred products.

Could this have been a factor in Jenny’s switch?

All we can say is great for her, hope she keeps it up.

Now, let’s work on that animal killing Botox issue.

The Smiths have a slim chance of getting back together, but Johnny Marr and Morrissey were great then and now.

Both vegetarians, Johnny was labeled the “bad boy” during the band’s stint, while Morrissey was the focused dude who never brought a groupie to his hotel room.

They complimented each other beautifully during the song Meat Is Murder.

So between the two former Smiths members, who would you rather…

Styna Whatman

The Twilight vegetarian vampires of Forks, Washington are like the vegetarian humans who still eat chicken and fish.

NOT vegetarian.

They don’t eat humans, but instead feast on the blood of animals.

A lady named Styna Whatman very closely resembles Ashley Greene and her character from Twilight, Alice Cullen.

So much she cut her hair, moved to Forks, Washington and worked as “Alice Cullen” in a flower and gift shop named Leppell’s.

What’s cool?

Styna is a real vegetarian vampire.

In an email sent to the Veg Star, Styna writes, “I’m vegan and strongly support animal rights.”

“Since Twilight reaches such a large audience, it’d be a great way to send the cruelty-free message to them!”

Styna is featured in an MTV documentary about the town of Forks, Washington, Twilight In Forks: The Saga of the Real Town by York Baur and Jason Brown, due for release on October 15.

Watch the clip below for a preview and to hear Styna describe reactions in Forks when the real vegetarian vampire paid the city a visit!

Christina Pirello Better Sex Tips: Stick A Chili Pepper In It

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 in Chefs, Food & Drink.

Christina Pirello is the reason why the Food Network should bring on a vegetarian cooking show.

Cause they’ll be nothing to talk about but sex, sex, and more sex.

Sorry, we’re starting to sound like PETA.

Anyways, Christina has written a lovely sexy article at the Huffington Post, listing several vegetarian foods that improve your sex life and here are a few excerpts.

Christina is the author several vegan cookbooks and attributes her recovering from cancer to switching to a plant based diet.

Chili Peppers
“Hot peppers really heat things up as we eat them, but capsaicin, the source of that heat, triggers endorphins, our sensations of pleasure, which is very, very good for very, very good sex. Chilies also stimulate the nervous system, accentuating the effects of arousal, which is very, very, very good for very, very, very good sex. Conclusion? Hot, spicy foods can lead to hot, spicy sex.”

Soy

“Chinese medicine tells us that soy relaxes and cools the body. When people are relaxed, they tend to be more open and receptive. In the bedroom, that’s good!”

“But it’s the science of soy that’s the sexy part. Soy contains phytoesterogens, hormone-like compounds that bind estrogen receptors. With soy as a regular part of your diet, vaginal lubrication is less of a problem (that’s very good…). But the best part? Studies have shown that soy can be very beneficial to prostate health, which is crucial to male sexual function.”

“Makes tofu seem a lot sexier now, I bet. Oh, and for those of you not eating soy, add some fennel to your diet for the same benefits.”

Vogues 1 Year Anniversary Party For 3.1 Phillip Lims LA Store - Inside

Singer Eve is in need of a little schooling when it comes to eating vegetarian.

She was recently at the Blush Boutique Nightclub at the Wynn in Las Vegas when she asked for something vegetarian.

Like chicken fingers.

A source told the New York Post:

“She was in the VIP area and got hungry, so she asked if room service could be ordered to the club. They agreed to help her out, but when they took her order, she said she wanted ’something vegetarian, like grilled cheese or chicken fingers.’ The staff was pretty confused about it.”

The staff’s not the only one.

Perhaps Eve’s just trying to eat better and is cutting back on red meat.

Quite the chickentarian.

And they say vegetarians are hard to figure out because we ask so many strange questions about the menu. Ha!
