Caleb Landry Jones

Caleb Landry Jones stars as a representative for a firm that sells celebrity diseases in the Toronto International Film Festival flick Antiviral.

The company extracts viruses from celebrities and sells them to fans wishing to be part of the experience.

Personally, we’d rather just have an autograph.

In addition to patented sickness, the film gets weirder as it has characters eating food made from celebrity DNA.

But you bet your broccoli it’s vegan.

On a recent episode of “The Tonight Show,” Janet Jackson told Jay Leno what some of her favorite vegan foods are.

Grab the map and start taking notes, because Miss Jackson has suggestions from the Midwest to California to the East Coast.

In LA, Janet likes Vegan Glory for their “great tacos and great chicken McNuggets.”

“There’s a place I go to when I’m home in New York–Red Bamboo. I love their chicken Parmesan…It tastes just like chicken but it’s all soy.”

Janet had to explain to Jay that while in Chicago, she would never eat the “Demon Dog,” hot dog.

We  understand. Seitan is devilish enough.

Rufus Wainwright

Rufus Wainwright is well into his vegetarian conversion, except for the occasional slip here and there at the seafood restaurants in New York.

“I’ve become a vegetarian, and I’m adjusting,” Wainwright told the New York Post when he rambled off a list of his favorite eating spots in the area. “I admit, I have succumbed to in my vegetarian state occasionally, but don’t hate me.”

Luckily, there is Provisions Natural Foods Market and Organic Cafe in Sag Harbor to counteract all that fishy karma.

Aussie Millions Poker Championships: Holdem Invitational

Daniel Negreanu is making veggie converts with his barbecue seitan.

On Twitter, the champion poker player bragged that even a meat loving Texan gave the wheat meat the thumbs up.

“Earlier @texdolly tasted a piece of my Seitan. You know it’s gotta be alright when a BBQ eatin’ Texan says he likes it. Kudos @dnassistant.”

This led to a response from someone who Tweeted, “@realkidpoker stop trying to convert people!” to which Negreanu replied, “@RaSZi ya cause Doyle is totally going Vegan now, right.”

One highly tasty and addictive way to barbecue seitan is to use Dr. Pepper or other similar cola in the sauce (e.g. non high fructose corn syrup soda like Hansen’s). This recipe for Dr. Pepper Barbecue Seitan has you creating seitan from scratch using vital wheat gluten flour, ketchup, hot sauce and soda for the sauce and a spoonful of peanut butter.

Don’t ask why the PB is there, just taste the results and appreciate its place!

George W. Bush Gives His First Post-Presidency Speech

George W. Bush recently gave a speech at Lubbock Christian University, where he confirmed what every vegan loves to hear: They are free to worship seitan.

Bush said Americans should be able to worship any religion they like and began naming a few before he said “vegan,” getting a roar of laughter from the audience.

“No one should say I’m more American than you by their faith,” Bush added. “I don’t know how to be president without faith,” he continued and then discussed how he was touched by people who often told him they were praying for him.

Bush’s niece, Lauren Bush, is a member of the vegetarian congregation.

Who knew George W. had such a great sense of humor?
