Quantcast Vegetarian StarJay Leno

On a recent episode of “The Tonight Show,” Janet Jackson told Jay Leno what some of her favorite vegan foods are.

Grab the map and start taking notes, because Miss Jackson has suggestions from the Midwest to California to the East Coast.

In LA, Janet likes Vegan Glory for their “great tacos and great chicken McNuggets.”

“There’s a place I go to when I’m home in New York–Red Bamboo. I love their chicken Parmesan…It tastes just like chicken but it’s all soy.”

Janet had to explain to Jay that while in Chicago, she would never eat the “Demon Dog,” hot dog.

We  understand. Seitan is devilish enough.

Inspired by Lady Gaga’s meat attire, Private Practice actress Kate Walsh showed up for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno dressed in fish attire. From rings of sushi to prawn on the feet, Walsh dressed head to toe in imitation pieces of seafood. For the non-fish eating vegetarians, Walsh also stuck a few pieces of edamame on her body. There were no overfished species on the outfit, however, as she told the crowd.

“These are all totally sustainable fish, by the way. There’s no bluefin on here.”

Bluefin may be a popular fish used in sushi, but it’s being fished to extinction. Some have suggested replacing bluefin with Almaco jack, also known as kahala. Kahala is a distant relative of bluefin, but without the reddish hue and reproduces constantly throughout the year without hormones or environmental manipulations.

Opening Night Of Chicago At The Pantages Theatre - Red Carpet

Kevin Eubanks announced he’s resigning from his 18 year job as a musician for Jay Leno‘s The Tonight Show, but could fans see him on the screen again soon?

Hollywood News reports Eubanks has been approached to do a reality TV show where he’s preparing meals with other celebrities.

Sounds great, considering Eubanks is a longtime vegetarian who could make dishes consisting of couscous, whole grain pasta and tempeh popular among prime time viewers, given his popularity.

Eubanks recorded a PSA for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine where he promoted going vegetarian and eating dishes like “grilled portabello mushrooms over pasta” as a way stay healthy and fit.

Summer TCA Tour - Day 9

About an hour left before the animal rights group, People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), launches their protest against Jay Leno and The Jay Leno Show.

PETA is upset because Jay recently gave props to McDonald’s, a fast food establishment that PETA says is still using cruel methods to slaughter its chickens.

PETA members will arrive in chickens suits at The Jay Leno Show studios at NBC Studios in Burbank at 3000 W. Alameda Ave. at 2:30 p.m.

Ironically, Jay’s musical sidekick, Kevin Eubanks, is a vegetarian.

Jessica Alba and her family go for a walk in Sunset Plaza

Jessica Alba recently appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno to discuss her first Easter with daughter Honor Marie Warren.

What’s so cool about Jessica’s first Easter with Honor is that she tried to keep things vegan!

According to Celebritybabyblog.com, the cupcakes were “organic, dairy-free, egg-free cupcakes.”

Jessica described the cupcakes as “awesome” and “moist,” but the icing left more to be desired.

“The icing was horrible, so I got the icing from the can,” Jessica told Jay.

You can watch the video of Jessica telling Jay about her Easter icing experience.

Aw, we’ll forgive you Jess. We’re just so proud you attempted vegan cupcakes. Wonder if this means Jessica will be doing more vegan cooking in the future?

Have you had a bad vegan icing experience? Cherrybrook Kitchen has some awesome vegan frosting guaranteed to make your next vegan cupcake experience NOT sucky.
