FEED Clarins

Lauren Bush has launched another item in her line of FEED Projects handbags.

The Clarins FEED 15 pouch will provide 15 meals to school children for each pouch sold. Inside are three popular Clarins beauty products.

“World hunger kills more people then HIV, AIDS, and Malaria combined. It’s a silent killer,” Bush said. “I would just encourage everyone to get involved and take that first step in either learning, or educating your friends about world hunger, or making a donation. Every little bit helps. Obviously, there’s a need here (to help starving children) in America as well – we can’t forget about that either.”

There’s a growing trend among people, vegetarian and meat eaters, to learn where their food was sourced. Lauren Bush, co-founder of FEED Projects and founder of her own fashion label, Lauren Pierce, thinks a similar movement is happening in the clothing industry.

If you’re a Texan, what character of the state do you most associated yourself with?

Probably not the steakhouses, but that’s okay, because you’re in good company, as Lauren Bush says being Texan may have more to do with what you put on your body and not in it.

“I love jeans and denim — I think that’s probably my most stereotypically Texan trait,” the co-founder of FEED Projects, a non-profit designed to help fund UN programs for hunger around the world.

If you’re a true greenie, you’ll want to grab a pair of organic denim jeans, since it takes almost 2/3 of a pound of pesticide to produce one pair of conventional ones. Everything should be bigger in Texas, but not the carbon footprint!

So where does Lauren eat in Houston to avoid the steakhouses?
