McCartney said, “It’s time to end the cruel slaughter of whales and leave these magnificent creatures alone. President Obama And First Lady Host Concert Honoring Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney played for the Obamas and a crowd of celebrities and journalists during an event where he was presented with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by president Barack Obama.

Receiving the award from the president was comparable to being honored, according to McCartney.

“Getting this prize would just be good enough, but getting it from THIS president …You have billions of us who are rooting for you, and we know you’re going to come through.”

The Gershwin prize is named after songwriters and brothers George and Ira Gershwin, who’s collections are located at the Library of Congress, which awarded McCartney the honor.

Besides McCartney serenading the First Lady with the lyrics to “Michelle,” other performers at the event included Stevie Wonder singing “We Can Work It Out,” The Jonas Brothers “Baby You Can Drive My Car,” Corinne Bailey Rae on “Blackbird,” and Faith Hill performing “Long and Winding Road.”

If you were unable to get an invite to the White House, you can still watch the concert on July 28 on PBS.

There was the satire version of The Last Supper involving vegan Judas (of course the non meat eater is portrayed as the evil, traitor).

Now PETA is promoting another veggie version of the meal featuring Jesus and the disciples, this time putting Paul McCartney and Pamela Anderson at the table, an exhibit on display at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Pamela is, as would be expected, revealing more skin than Paul.

“The Diner” was created inside a 28 foot 1955 Airstream trailor by a University of Texas at Dallas professor. One side of the trailor features The Last Supper scene, while visitors can take a look on another to view pictures of factory farms.

Paul McCartney Arrives Rock and Roll Ready At LAX!

Paul McCartney has hinted he may play for the Obamas soon.

According to green gossip site Ecorazzi, the vegetarian musician conducted an online chat where he hinted his next stop would be at Pennsylvania Avenue.

“There’s been some rumors and I think we can give you a clue. Think White House. Think playing… If there is an announcement mentioning the White House, remember where you heard it first.”

Nice!

White House chef Sam Kass will surely be pulling up veggies from the South Lawn garden to whip up something deliciously meatless for the guest, if he should make the president’s home a stop on his tour.
