Maybe not, but former General Motors vice chairman Bob Lutz put the satirical talk show host to shame when they went head to head, leaving Colbert red-faced and out of breath and Lutz as steady as a sedan on cruise control.

Barack Obama invited a vegan food company to the signing of the JOBS act in Washington. The bill allows smaller companies to go public sooner

Samantha Abrams and her partner Ian Gaffney were honorable attendees at the event because of their success at crowd sourcing. Raising $15,000, Abrams and Gaffney designed packages for their products that were eco-friendly.

Emmy’s Organics makes vegan, gluten-free and raw goodies like macaroons, granola, chocolate sauce, fudge, pies and cake and almond milk.

Mitt Romney

Saturday Night Live chose to poke fun of potential Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in a skit where he “claimed to be interested in things we know he is not interested in.”

Like animal welfare, for instance.

The skit touted Romney as both the future “cat-neutering president” and the “cock-fighting president,” reminding those that follow a politician’s record on animal rights about an all too heartbreaking incident in 1983 when Romney allegedly took a trip to Canada with a dog strapped to the roof of the car.

Steve King

Iowa Republican representative Steve King thinks if you’re a vegetarian or a vegan, it’s time to come out of the closet.

King was present at a hearing that discussed issues pertinent to the Department of Agriculture and animal husbandry when he noticed there were several animal welfare and animal rights groups present.

King insisted these people weren’t really there to discuss how to better the agricultural system by cleaning up big farms, improving living conditions for animals and making  the food supply safer but were on a secret mission to get rid of the system altogether. Because that will make it easier to get a lentil burger at McDonald’s.

Well, duh! But does that mean they should be forced to confess to the vegaphobes? Here’s how King coerced the veggies to admit what really goes on in their mouths behind closed doors.

Former Top Chef champion Stephanie Izard is far from being vegetarian. She was criticized by PETA and similar activists for serving veal at one of her restaurants.

This hasn’t stopped her from hiring a vegetarian, although most of us would rather see him in a better position than that of a BUTCHER!

“Yes, I am a vegetarian butcher,” Izard’s employee says in this video below.

Emily Deschanel is serving as the spokesperson for Farm Sanctuary’s Walk For Animals. The event involves sponsored walks in various cities across the United States and Canada to raise awareness about farm animals.

Dr. Oz has always welcomed vegan topics on his daytime television show, and next week on October 28, Oz will invite author, dietitian and Forks Over Knives consultant Julieanna Hever to discuss the benefits of a plant-based diet, as well as demonstrate several recipes from her book, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition.

According to the site from the publisher of her book, Hever will show the audience how to make the It’s Easy Being Green Smoothie, Noritos and Beans and Greens Chili.

Below is Hever demonstrating making Noritos, which are burritos made with seaweed wrap. Hever makes a Mediterranen, Japanese and Mexican version of this burrito twist.
