Dita Von Teese has always maintained she’s not going all out veggie.

And on an even more sour note, she told PETA she wasn’t about to advocate giving up fur when she offered to star in a PSA about spaying and neutering pets.

Sigh.

At least has not problem sharing her joy for vegetarian food when she’s eating it.

Food Network “Cupcake Wars” Vegan Bakery Winners

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 in Business, Chefs, Film & TV, Food & Drink, Reality TV, Restaurants.

Chloe Coscarelli set the example when she won the Food Network‘s cupcake baking competition, Cupcake Wars last year. Coscarelli impressed the judges with dairy-free and egg-free versions of Ginger Nutmeg Spice with Date Caramel Drizzle, Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake, Crème-filled Chocolate Orange with Candied Orange Peel and Raspberry Tiramisu.

Recently, Cupcake Wars featured a vegan-on-vegan competition, where Doron Petersan from D.C.’s Sticky Fingers Bakery and Kim Garr of L.A.’s C’est La V Bakeshop squared off.

In the end, Petersan took home the $10,000 grand prize, but when two vegan bakers are featured on such a popular national food show, is there really a loser?

We don’t think so!

Vegnews had the opportunity to chat with both owners to learn what it’s like behind the scenes with all the lights, cameras, hot ovens and muffin tins.

One of Charlie Sheen‘s “goddesses,” also known as his two girlfriends who reside in his home, is a proud vegan.

Which tickles us pink, knowing that Fort Wayne, Indiana native Rachel, known by her, cough, cough “adult” star name as Bree Olson, is probably feeding little Charlie and her co-girlfriend Nat, well.

Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson is known for giving props to local food when visiting a country, and her recent visit to Tel Aviv was no different.

The actress was welcomed by several animal rights activists carrying tombstones that read, “Thou Shall Not Kill Animals.”

“There are a lot of really great animal rights [activists] here, really good, sympathetic people and I think they’re making a lot of progress even with passing this fur bill, which is a landmark bill and it’s very important for the rest of the world,” Anderson told The Jerusalem Post. “It just seems like everyone is very passionate [in Israel]. There’s not a lot of small talk – people really talk about important things and it’s really incredible the people that I’ve met. We have great conversations.”

Wynn Las Vegas

As reported earlier, vegan cookbook author and chef Tal Ronnen joined the chefs at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore casino and hotel restaurants, revamping the menus to make them very veggie heavy.

Officials from Wynn have shared descriptions of what some of the entrees Ronnen helped add to an already vegan-friendly menu, thanks to Steve Wynn‘s decision to go vegan. Here’s a sample of the reward you can get from the kitchens of Lakeside Grill, SW Steakhouse, Sinatra and more, even if you lose at the slot machine.

Joe Jonas

If there was anyone who acted like a closet veggie, it’s Joe Jonas.

Dude’s been spotted so many times enjoying items like veggie burgers at vegan restaurants like Real Food Daily.

And now, more evidence pointing towards his plant-based propensities has been snapped by MTV’s Buzzworthy Blog after he had been shopping  at a clothing store which is home to a cafe that specializes in soy, fruit and veggie-based shakes and drinks.
