Zagros Changed Vegan Man On “Millionaire Matchmaker”

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, April 15th, 2010 in Food & Drink, Reality TV, Videos.

Zagros, the entrepreneur with a thing for flings, made a comeback on the season finale episode of Millionaire Matchmaker.

He previously broke Patty Stanger‘s rule for no sex unless in a committed, monogamous relationship, a rule she explains by adding, “I’ve got nothing against prostitution, but I ain’t a madam.”

When Stanger asks how he’s changed his ways, Zagros replies, “I’m a vegan now,” to which Stanger replies, “I’m talking about your romantic life. I don’t care about your eating habits.”

Who knows? Zagros’ diet changes may make him a changed man. If he’s no longer feeding himself a steady diet of hormone infused meat, maybe his own “roids” will calm down a little.

Jillian Michaels may scream, berate and boss people around on NBC’s The Biggest Loser, but she insists that’s not the way you should treat your kids if you’re trying to get them in shape.

“The Biggest Loser is about life-or-death confrontations. Last ditch attempts to get people back on track. Kids need positive reinforcement only,” Jillian explained to Parent Dish.

Getting kids involved with physical activities can be combined with nutrition, such as planting and growing your own vegetables in a backyard garden, suggests the pescatarian.

“Teach them about healthy goods to help them become a healthy grownup. Don’t make it about pounds or calorie counting. Involve them in the food. Let them start a little vegetable garden so they are invested. Challenge them to find fruits and veggies in their favorite colors and so on. This helps to keep health fun and make them feel in control of their choices.”

We can totally see the garden thing as a competitive, but positive experience for kids.

Team blue gets the green beans. Team red gets tomatoes.

Who can harvest more at the end of the season?

Bravo Media's 2010 Upfront Party

During the week of April 19, viewers watching programming on NBC Universal networks should expect to see more recycling, more lights out and hopefully less meat at the dinner table.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Green weeks take place on some 40 NBC Universal outlets in April and November, and an upcoming episode on Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker will feature a 39 year old eco friendly clothing line exec go into range after his blind date orders meat.

How did this chick get past Patty Stanger’s people during screening?

Stanger’s assistant, Chelsea Autumn, claims her mother bakes the best vegan cookies in the world that she occasionally brings in for the staff.

Hope this eco tycoon got a dozen or so of these after that horrible experience with bachelorette beefy.

Pamela Anderson Visits Illinois

In last night’s Dancing with the Stars, each competitor had to tell a story through their dance for the evening without using any props.

Vegetarian and animal activist Pamela Anderson danced her legs away to a paso doble, and pretended to be a gypsy Flamenco dancer in both awe and disgust by the matador.

“I’ve always been an animal activist and always think bullfighting is senseless and violent,” said Anderson. “I think it’s a dance with the devil.”

Will Pamela’s story of passion for both a man and animals be enough to keep her from elimination?

You’ll have to watch the results show tonight at 8/7c on ABC to find out!

Did you catch Ruben Studdard on the American Idol results show last night?

The camera may add 10 pounds, but that’s no problem for Studdard, who’s lost about 100!

When Ryan Seacrest told Studdard he looked great and asked what his secret was, Studdard replied, “I’m a vegan now, man. Working out everyday.”

Studdard has been a vegan for about six months and said on the Wendy Williams show he enjoys making vegan soul food at home.

Can we still vote for this guy every week?

Biggest Losers Jerry Lisenby, Michelle Aguilar and Alison Vincent compete in Miami's South Beach Triathlon

Former The Biggest Loser contestant set out on yet another weight loss challenge after giving birth to her second son in 2008.

Suzy Hoover lost 95 pounds during the reality TV show in 2005, and her husband, Matt Hoover was season two’s winner.

To jumpstart her weight loss program, Hoover spent a week at The Biggest Loser Resort in Ivins, Utah, where her days were spent with long hikes and 45 minute workouts such as cycling.

What did Hoover eat to fuel all this activity?

US Magazine reports Hoover ate “1,200 calories a day fueled by veggie heavy meals.”

It’s no surprise The Biggest Loser Resort relies on food grown in the ground to help get attendees off the ground and on their way to less pounds.

Bob Harper, one of the coaches on the show, is a vegetarian who says he recommends all contestants either follow a vegetarian or diet with very little meat.

Harper’s diet “A” consists of protein from sources like beans and tofu, while diet “B” for competitors that absolutely refuse to quit meat consists of little amounts of lean meat, but still forces them to go heavy on the veggie.

Gordon Ramsay traveled to Boco Raton, Florida in a recent episode of Kitchen Nightmares to clean up the menu and kitchen at Anna Vincenzo’s Italian restaurant.

As part of the grand reopening of the eatery, Anna Vincenzo’s held a celebrity pizza making contest, where athletes from the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat and Florida Panthers had to construct the perfect pizza in 3 minutes.

Non meat eating Miami Heat forward James Jones won’t touch the pizza he made for the judges because he put meat on it thinking it would impress them and said he didn’t know what else to put on it, even though tubs of veggies like mushrooms and peppers can be seen in the clip.

Such a shame, considering the vegetarian pizzas on Anna Vincenzo’s menu outnumber the meat ones 5:3!

Guess more Floridians are impressed with meat-free after all.

Carol Leifer Or Herschel Walker–Who Would You

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, March 24th, 2010 in Athletes-Games-Sports, Comedians, Reality TV.

Celebrity Apprentice hasn’t been too nice to vegetarians, as the potential CEOs have been given the “You’re Fired” order with neither a fruit basket nor a severance package.

This season comedian Carol Leifer was the first to go (but she did squeeze some money out of Donald for an animal charity), while Herschel Walker got the pink slip after he failed trying to make executive decisions about chicken when he doesn’t even eat it.

Better luck next time guys.

A business lunch is still available. Between the two contestants, who would you rather do…
