Lady Gaga

The Smoking Gun has unearthed a document that reveals Lady Gaga has requested vegetarian hot dogs for her ryder.

Gaga asked for Yves brand of meatless hotdogs, but the request doesn’t just stop there. The no-meat wieners are to be “eaten with toothpicks.” Kudos to the Gaga for bringing vegetarian fare on board, but she could have made things greener by nixing the toothpicks and asking everyone to eat a dog the old fashion way with their hands or fingers.

If you’re headed to Grant Park for this year’s Lollapalooza, the last thing you have to worry about is finding good meatless food to eat.

The music festival is known for incorporating both green and charitable gestures to the Chicago community, such as refurbishing city monuments and helping to create parks in the city, including the inner city areas, as founder Perry Farrell told Access Hollywood.

There’s also a farmers market west of the Buckingham Fountain with items such as organic fruit and granola to support local farmers. PETA is using the summer 2010 Vans Warped Tour to launch the campaign, “Elephants Never Forget,” meant to raise awareness of abuse circus animals endure.

After texting “NEVER” to 73822 (Peta2), cell phone users will be prompted to visit the PETA tent at the Warp Tour during one of its 43 dates from June 25-August 15. They will also be subscribed to a mobile list for the youth and teen division of Peta, Peta2.

The campaign is part of PETA’s ongoing efforts to educate the public about the conditions circus animals endure, with Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey being the biggest circus company as the target of the animal rights organization.

The digital campaign is made possible by Waterfall Mobile, the same company behind the campaign for the Oscar winning documentary, The Cove.
