Mayim Bialik was getting prim and pretty for an appearance recently when she insisted her makeup artist use only cruelty-free products down to her toes.

Bialik said, “I need to get the vegan nail polish,” and explained what un-vegan things go into most polishes, including dyes from bugs.

Jessica-Jane Clement, model and star of BBC’s The Real Hustle, is starring in a PETA UK PSA that supports the scheduled 2013 ban of all cosmetics tested on animals in Europe.

“No Bunny Should Suffer For Beauty,” the ad reads.

During an interview with PETA UK, Clement explained why she supports such a ban.

Colbie Caillat is the face behind Libby B. Skincare, a line of animal-friendly cosmetics created from natural plant-based ingredients.

“It’s made with all-natural ingredients, and I love that it’s not tested on animals,” the singer told Artist Direct. “The bottle is eco-friendly too. Since I’m all about everything being organic, natural, and good for putting in or on your body, I thought it was a really great line to partner up with.”

Paul McCartney has backed a campaign by the Humane Society International to end animal testing for cosmetic products.

The HSI’s Be Cruelty-Free campaign calls for an end to cosmetics testing all over the world, something that has already taken place in Europe, with new laws set to be in effect in 2013 that will ban the sales of newly animal-tested cosmetics.

“The ugly truth about testing beauty products on animals is that it causes them unimaginable pain and suffering. If every cosmetic tested on rabbits or mice had a photo on the packaging showing these animals with weeping swollen eyes and inflamed skin, I believe everyone would leave cruelty on the shelf and go for the cruelty-free option instead,” Sir Paul said.

As a vegan entrepreneur, it’s no surprise some of Guest’s simple food pleasures included in the cookbook divided by the seasons include Spring dishes like chilled asparagus soup, Summer dishes like Pesto Panini or any of her Guilt-Free Burgers, Fall pastas like spaghetti squash with Pine Nuts and Tarragon and Winter comfort dishes like Shepherd’s Pie and Spinach Tofu Lasagna.

Alicia Silverstone spoke with PopSugar on her new line of vegan, organic, natural cosmetics, Juice Beauty.

“You can get very overwhelmed with all the choices out there. You have these guidelines. You’re like “Okay, I don’t want to have anything unhealthy. And I don’t want this to hurt the planet. And I don’t want it to hurt animals. And I want it to be amazing.”

That’s not too much to ask for and apparently, Juice Beauty has fulfilled Silverstone’s desires, with cosmetics formulated without animal testing and harsh chemicals, packaged in eco-friendly recycled materials.
