Vegetarian Star

Miranda Lambert recently rescued a dog from an Oklahoma highway.

The country music singer was driving on the west side of Tishomingo on Highway 22 when she spotted the animal.

“He was in the middle of the hwy with his food bowl and bed… If it wasn’t an accident someone is really sick,” Lambert wrote in addition to posting a picture of the two of them on Instagram. “I guess the pup is mine till I find him a little boy somewhere to [love] him.”

Kellie Pickler is a vegetarian who’s been on PETA’s sexiest list for several years.

It’s hard to believe this American Idol alum used to work at a burger joint.

Her first job was a Sonic, and although it wasn’t enough to turn her vegetarian then, it taught her a lesson in remaining humble in the entertainment industry.

Growing up on a farm in Oklahoma, Underwood observed that her parents’ cows got a little “separation anxiety” before being sold, one of the many reasons why she chose to stop eating meat.

Joe Yonan‘s “coming out as a vegetarian,” as many journalists and bloggers are calling it, has resulted in good publicity for the diet. As the food editor of the Washington Post, Yonan now has the ability to share the benefits and tasty secrets of a plant-based diet to millions of Americans.

In addition to discussing vegetarian and vegan dishes in his regular Post column, Yonan has an all-vegetarian cookbook scheduled for release this summer.

Yonan latest attempt at proselytizing the heavy meat eaters is through the Huffington Post, where he’s named the top vegetarian and vegan restaurants located in the nation’s capitol.
