Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, September 16th, 2013 in Food & Drink, Meatless Monday Recipe, Radio Hosts, Recipes.

The Vegucation of Robin

Robin Quivers has made the news on her recent victory over cancer.

The radio show host has successfully undergone surgery and chemo treatments and her doctors have given her the “all clear” sign that she is healthy and ready to go.

Although vegetarian and vegan diets may help prevent the growth of cancerous tumors, there’s no evidence a miracle food exists to cure or stave it away.

So while drinking Robin’s Green Drink won’t guarantee a life free from disease, it can give you increased energy, fiber, nutrients and other goodies to help you stay energetic and healthy enough to monitor your health regularly so that you can catch anything in its early stages like Robin did.

Meatless Mouthful–Jane Goodall Parenting Lessons Among Chimps

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, September 12th, 2013 in Animal Issues, Meatless Mouthful.

Jane Goodall

“I learned the importance of contact, affection and play. Reassurance. And the importance of distracting rather than punishing when the infant is too small to understand, and then gradually teaching rules. That was the great thing about being out in the wild, he could spill his food—it didn’t matter because it was the forest floor. I see so many parents upset when the child spills his milk and wants to make patterns with it on the table. He’s not doing something wrong, it’s important investigation and exploration.”

Jane Goodall, to Mommy Greenest, on how different life was being pregnant and raising a child while she studied chimps in Africa. Animals and pets have been suggested to have many positive impacts on children growing up. It sounds as if the same can be said for parenting.
