The Vegucation of Robin

Robin Quivers has experienced more than few health challenges over the years.

Known best for her role as Howard Stern’s sidekick on his radio show, Quivers has adopted a vegan diet, lost almost 100 pounds, wrote a book on vegan health and recipes and even trained for a marathon.

If diet and lifestyle have anything to do with beating deadly diseases, Quivers’ work may have paid off.

Diagnosed with cancer, she has now gone public to say it is in full remission.

A tumor the size of a grapefruit was found in her pelvis and was preventing her from urinating.

After undergoing chemotherapy and ileostomy, a surgical procedure that allows intestinal waste to pass out of the body through an opening in the skin and into a pouch, Quivers’ doctors gave her the news that cancer, much like her previous diet of meat products, was a thing of the past.

“(The doctor) just looks at everything and she goes, ‘You’re cured. You’re done. You can just leave here. You know, the protocol is to scan you every three months and do all this stuff, but we don’t really have to, because you’re cured,'” Quivers said.

There is evidence that a vegetarian or vegan diet can stop and/or slow the growth of cancerous tumors.

Quivers’ book on the plant-based lifestyle is titled The Vegucation of Robin: How Real Food Saved My Life.

It’s saved her from obesity and other weight-related health issues.

It may have also saved her from premature death.
