Bob Barker is celebrating his 90th birthday today!
Most of us would be happy to remember where we placed our veggies at 90, let alone be able to make a PSA for them.
But the longtime Price is Right host has never been the average vegetarian, from his active involvement with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to donating money to programs designed to educate people about animals to reminding pet lovers to spay and neuter every day on the famous game show where we all became familiar with him.
Now Barker wants his fans to know that going veg may do more than extend your lifespan.
It may help your memory as well.
Barker discusses studies that suggest meat eaters may be at a higher risk for developing Alzheimer’s.
“I have some food for thought to share with you about eating and aging,” Barker says in the clip.
“Being vegetarian doesn’t just help your body, it also helps your mind.”
“Eating meat means you have a much greater chance of losing your mind.”
“Eat vegetarian, and keep your wits about you into a ripe old age.”
