Paula Deen Diabetes Secret

You knew the cream filled double burger wrapped in bacon between two glazed donuts and deep-fried twice was going to catch up with her.

A story featured in the May 10 edition of the National Enquierer claims Southern Queen Paula Deen was diagnosed with diabetes several years ago. What’s worst, it hints Deen wants to keep this a secret, fearing revealing she developed a condition linked very closely to poor diet may make her look bad. Because it’s good for the brand to continue killing other people.

Colbie Caillat has collaborated with the Humane Society of the United States to educate her fans about the uncomfortable conditions dogs endure in puppy mills, encouraging her fans to rescue and adopt instead of buy.

Caillat has recorded radio announcements that will be played this week, which happens to be Puppy Mill Action Week. The timing of the annoucements was meant to correspond during Mother’s Day weekend to remind people female dogs in mills have some of the worst Mother’s Days in the world because they are forced to reside in cramped cages, suffering physical and pyschological abuse.

“Water For Elephants” Harmed No Elephants (Video)

Water for Elephants is a film starring Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon about a young veterinary student named Jacob Jankowski who joins a traveling circus to care for the animals. Although he loves all the animals, there is one in particular, an elephant named Rosie, that attracts his attention the most.

“Elephants are the most sophisticated, gentle creatures you could possibly hope to work with,” Pattinson said.

Scenes in movie depict elephants covered in blood and suffering from bruises and injuries. But the American Humane Association had monitors on the set and have given the film their trademarked certification of “No Animals Were Harmed” in the making.

AAA Publishes Top Vegetarian Restaurant Picks

Based on a poll from its professional inspectors, AAA applied its famous 3-diamond rating system and named its 13 top picks for eating veg on the road (if you’re not lucky enough to be a local in the city).
