Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 in Actresses, Polls/Surveys, Who Would You.

Jenna Ushkowitz and Dianna Agron share the set of the hot new Fox television show Glee.

Wonder if they also share snacks between scenes.

Both vegetarians, sources say Dianna is a supporter of PETA and Jenna devoured Tofurky this past Thanksgiving.

Obviously both would have no problem singing for their vegetarian supper.

So between the two Glee stars, who would you rather do…

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 in Female Musicians, Female Singers, Food & Drink.

Lisa Origliasso of Australian pop-rock band The Veronicas arrives at the Rock & Roll Glitter Birthday Party in Sydney

Half of the pop duo The Veronicas really likes to get her vegan nacho fix on at Real Food Daily.

Last month, Lisa Origliasso Tweeted:

Is in LOVE with the vegan nachos at @realfooddaily everyone needs to go try them <3

And more recently, she Tweeted about RFD nachos again, in case the fans forgot:

Had the best vegan nachos at @realfooddaily…

Obviously, Real Food Daily’s got some great dairy-free grub, but if you can’t make it there, head to your closest natural foods store or go online and order Teese Vegan Nacho Cheese from Chicago Soy Dairy (and pick up some of their vegan ice cream or marshmallows while you’re at it).

You’ll get the best damn at home nacho cheese experience.

Period.

Kerry McCarthy Labour Member of Parliament for Bristol East

Comedian Ross Noble recently played a game with Labour Member of Parliament Kerry McCarthy using the social media Queen’s own method of promoting the party-Twitter.

Noble asked his 30,000 Twitter follows to bombard McCarthy with questions and McCarthy agreed to answer as many as possible.

One follower asked her advice for a good brand of vegan cheese.

McCarthy, being vegan herself, answered, “I prefer Cheezley though Sheese sometimes has its uses and the soft Scheese is good.”

Cheezly is produced by Redwood Foods, the company recently acquired by Heather Mills that specializes is vegetarian faux meats and cheeses.

Another follower asked McCarthy if she’d ever wear a gorilla suit to Parliament and she replied, “I don’t think it’s expressly forbidden, I could give it a try?”

McCarthy should do it, but only if the other members of Parliament agree to eat veg for a week!

“Eclipse” Bryce Dallas Howard Diet Not Like Taylor Lautner

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 in Actresses, Food & Drink.

"Terminator Salvation" Japan Premiere

Bryce Dallas Howard is reportedly taking steps to slim down for the cameras that will be spotlighting her during the Eclipse press tour that begins June 2010.

Howard’s plan includes using a detox cleansing system and avoiding oils.

“Bryce is not looking to lose 20 pounds,” says her rep, Stephen Huvane, according to eonline.com.

“She does cleanse from time to time, but the one you describe is not at all what she has done in the past or has any plans to do,” Huvane added in regards to a stringent plan described by the source.

Regardless of how Howard will lose the undesired pounds, one thing’s for sure–she won’t be using any Taylor Lautner tactics to get there.

Howard is a vegetarian, who used to be a vegan, until pregnancy made her switch back, fearing she’d lose essential nutrients required while carrying a child.

To get his ripped abs and V hips, Lautner became a meat and sweet potato addict, even carrying baggies of the “drug” around to get his fix every few hours.

“Yeah, so I carry around a Baggie and it has meat patties in it,” Lautner told Entertainment Weekly.

“The worst is not the patties. It’s the sweet potatoes. They get raw and cold and gushy.”

Eww. The worst is having to listen to Lautner describe his carnivorous vice.

Best of luck to Howard.

Bet fans can’t wait to see her on the Eclipse tour next year!

But, darnit, they’re not vegan and proudly state they enjoy meat!

“We love vegans. My name rhymes with vegan,” jokes Tegan.

Tegan emphasizes that she and Sara prefer free range meat versus factory farmed, which makes the sting to the heart of vegetarians not as bad.

“I miss eating meat so much that I’m really attracted to things that look like meat,” Sara says.

Hello?! What looks like meat more than anythings else?

Faux meat ladies, faux meat!
