Quantcast Vegetarian Starvegetarian (162)

Daniela Sea

Daniela Sea stars in The Casserole Club, a film about a group of 1960s wives who regularly get together to share good recipes and good food.

Daniela’s character Jerome may enjoy whipping up a mean casserole onscreen, but offscreen Daniela says she doesn’t do much cooking.

Except the occasional vegan casserole, of course.

“I’m not a big fan of oven cooking, and the only casserole-ish thing I’ve ever made was vegan gluten-free lasagna: Brown rice noodles, cashew cheese and heirloom tomatoes and garlic sauce,” Daniela told SheWired.

Do we have to be members of the club to get the recipe for that?

Daniela once said in a PETA vegetarian testimonial, “The meat industry doesn’t want you to think about all the animals they are torturing and killing. And they definitely don’t want you to think about all the diseases related to eating meat. Their only concern is making a profit. Along time ago I made a decision to quit eating meat and dairy products…”

“As far as frightening foods are concerned, among the worst, surprisingly, is cheese. It should carry a warning label. Americans now consume 33 or 34 pounds of it per person each year. Most people don’t know that cheese derives 70 percent of its calories from fat, most of which is saturated. This is what drives heart disease and diabetes. As our infatuation with cheese has grown, so have our waistlines.”
