Steve-O Narrates “What Came Before” For Farm Sanctuary (Video)

Steve-O has narrated a short film about the intelligence of farmed animals like pigs, cows and chickens.

Produced by Farm Sanctuary, What Came Before is approximately a 10 minute video that also discusses the horrors animals experience on farms, as well as rescue stories.

The film begins with a story about a pig rescued from a farm after strong floods hit Iowa.

“Pigs like Nicky are some of the smartest animals on earth,” Steve-o says.

Pamela Anderson spends her Thanksgiving holidays with turkey like everyone else. She just doesn’t put it on her plate. The longtime vegetarian and former Baywatch actress revealed she enjoys going to a farm sanctuary and spending time with the birds who’ll never become someone’s dinner.

‘I go to the Gentle Barn and hang out with turkeys,” Anderson told NY Post’s Page Six. “I tickle them under the wings and I sit them on my lap, and I feed them pumpkin pie.”

Allison Janney “Juno” Star Narrates “Animal Tales” (Video)

Juno actress Allison Janney is narrating the first in a series of web-based videos produced by Farm Sanctuary that discuss the rescue and life of a farm animal.

Animal Tales will feature several other celebrities who will tell different animal stories, including Parenthood actor John Corbett, and Spanglish actress Téa Leoni.

Janney’s animal tale features Symphony, a 12-year old chicken rescued from a tornado disaster who now lives her life peacefully on the sanctuary.

“Symphony is very old for a chicken,” Janney says in the video. “Especially for a hen raised in a factory farm.”

John Bartlett recently launched the Ambassador Collection–t-shirts benefiting Farm Sanctuary, one of the nation’s largest animal sanctuaries for abused and neglected farm animals.

A vegan who eliminated leather from his fashion collections a few years ago, Bartlett spoke to Businessweek about his success as a cruelty-free designer in the industry.

Businessweek: The clothes in your high fashion collection are cruelty free. What does that entail?

Bartlett: Cruelty free means that no animals are used in the product. Everything I work with is either plant based or synthetic.

For example, for the Fall collection, I created some really cool jackets from ultrasuede, which is a recycled micro fiber.
