Heather Mills, Jamie Walker The Carnivore Still Going Strong

Heather Mills works on her new vegan restaurant

Awhile back, we told you an ex girlfriend of Heather Mills’ then boyfriend, Jamie Walker, was spilling the vegan pork and beans on her previous relationship with him.

Elsa Maneiro claimed Jamie and Heather would never work out because Jamie loved meat too much.

“I don’t think they will be compatible. Jamie will not become a vegetarian as he loves meat too much,” Maneiro said.

“He always lapped up my chicken or meat dishes. He has a penchant for hot dogs, hamburgers and junk food occasionally as well.”

“He adores fish. I can’t see him giving it up. The food is full of protein which is great for his body-building.”

Hmm…Either Jamie is eating more faux chicken lately or Heather’s tolerating his beefy ways.

Pictured here is Jamie and Heather walking on the day Heather showed the press the site for her new vegan restaurant, currently the old Big Fish Cafe. It looks like they are at least, ahem, keeping in touch.

Heather,a vegan, was pretty strict with Paul McCartney, requesting that he tighten the belt on his already vegetarian ways.

Has Heather let loose? Or has a woman turned Jamie around?

Meatless Mouthful: Stella McCartney On Responsible Fashion

Stella McCartney Store - Christmas Lights Switched On

“I was brought up that way, so it kind of came very naturally to me. I was brought up on an organic farm in the countryside and the whole family was vegetarian. So it sort of came without thinking. But then when it came to my having a career, starting a job and starting a brand in fashion, I guess it wouldn’t have sat comfortably with me to be hypocritical. I guess that was the starting point. The seeds were already sown in my personal life, and then they came into my business life.”

Russell Brand To Have Hot, Veggie Date With Lisa Simpson?

Russell Brand Signs Copies Of Russell Brand: My Booky Wook

Executive producers of The Simpsons, James L Brooks and Al Jean, would like to write comedian and actor Russell Brand in the cartoon show.

Al Jean said Brand was “very funny”, and added, “I would definitely be interested in writing an episode around him.”

In addition to Brand, Brooks and Jean want President Obama too.

We’re thinking Brand could have a date with Lisa Simpson.

After all, they both follow the same diet, and Brand wouldn’t be the first vegetarian celebrity Lisa meets on the show while dodging Homer’s love for lamb chops.

It was the help of Paul and Linda McCartney that helped Lisa maintain her veggie lifestyle in carnivorous loving Springfield.

It’s high time Lisa found herself a veggie mate. We just can’t picture her having dinner every evening with Milhouse.

Stella McCartney: Paris Fashion Week Ready-to-Wear A/W 09

Stella McCartney recently showcased her fall/winter ready-wear collection, which of course, consisted of animal-friendly  materials.

Stella’s commitment to cruelty-free wear has earned her the respect of another fellow vegetarian, singer Pink.

“She proves that you can be wildly successful and creative and still have moral values,” Pink told reporters at a post show event organized by PETA.

Such an example of the clothing that allowed Stella to retain her values were stiletto boot-cum-leggings which resembled real leather.

Guest attending the fashion show included Stella’s father, Paul McCartney, Salma Hayek, and rapper Kanye West and his girlfriend Amber Rose.

Paul McCartney is giving the thumbs up to the Vegetarian Society for using his late wife Linda’s recipes in its new cooking classes.

“It’s fabulous to see a course inspired by Linda and her recipes, which will in turn, hopefully, inspire cooks of the future,” McCartney said. “Those of us in her family are very proud that the Vegetarian Society has chosen to honour Linda in this way.”

The Cordon Vert School is located in the headquarters of the Vegetarian Society in London.

The curriculum will be officially launched later this month, and the actual courses will be offered in May, August, and October.

Linda McCartney was a longtime vegetarian and activist who inspired Paul to become one. She published vegetarian cookbooks and started her own line of frozen vegetarian foods, which was recently revamped with help from the McCartney family.

Hey Youngins’: Y’all Know Who Linda McCartney Was?

Live And Let Die

The Linda McCartney food range has recently revamped it’s packaging.

Besides the new slogan, “Food to Come Home To,” the new package features photographs of Linda and a history of the brand.

“We did a lot of research and found that a large proportion of the vegetarian market are under 25, and wouldn’t necessarily know who Linda McCartney was,” said Julian Roberts, director for Irving Designs, the company which worked with the McCartney family, including Paul, Stella, and Mary.

That’s a good point. Unless you’re an old soul who happens to be a Beatles fan or you grew up with parents who were never cured of Beatlemania, you might not know the story of the lovely Linda, late wife of Paul McCartney.

Behind every good man is a good woman, and it was Linda who introduced vegetarianism to Paul in the 70s. She wrote several vegetarian cookbooks, including Linda McCartney’s Home Cooking: Quick, Easy, and Economical Vegetarian Dishes For Today.

In 1991 she created the Linda McCartney Frozen Foods Line.

In addition to being outspoken about her diet, she was an animal activist and PETA created an award in her name after her death in 1998.

Linda McCartney Brand Redesign Creates Food To Come Home To

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, February 25th, 2009 in Business, Food & Drink.

Paul And Linda

When the McCartneys get together for a family event, they often enjoy the vegetable roast as a meal.

Now, after several months of reinventing the brand, the Linda McCartney food line, named after Paul’s late wife, is giving other families a chance to come home and enjoy quick, meatless meals at the dinner table.

“Food to Come Home To,” is the new slogan for the food line, which is complete with new packaging and labeling by Irving Designs, with help from the McCartney family, including photographer Mary.

Some aspects of the package remain the same, such as the heart motif, personally drawn by Linda. Of course, the delicious food inside the package hasn’t changed either.

“The previous packaging was not communicating the benefits of the product or the guideline daily amounts, and had no communications on the front edge of the pack,” Irving creative director and founder Julian Roberts said.

Besides a new look, the food line has also added three new meals: Thai green curry, Balti curry and Moroccan tagine.

If you like watching the “Extras” portion on DVDs you should take a look at these outtakes from Stephen Colbert’s Paul McCartney interview.

“Here’s my problem with vegetarianism,” says Colbert. “You can’t hunt vegetables. You cannot stalk a stalk of broccoli. You can’t fire off a shotgun into a field of asparagus.”

Paul suggests another type of “hunt” that takes place in your supermarket after spotting the vegetable of your choice.

“You don’t have to fire…lasso them…Broccoli, you’re mine…Straight to the checkout counter.”

Watch the video for laughs from scenes that didn’t, but should have, made the cut.
