The Age of Stupid Global Premiere Trailer from Age of Stupid on Vimeo.

Age of Stupid, a film which fast forwards to the year 2055 to let us see the devastating effects of climate change, premieres tonight at over 700 location in 50 countries.

Age of Stupid‘s filmmaker Franny Armstrong, is best known for the film McLibel, a documentary on the seven year long court battle between McDonald’s and two vegetarians who have some issues with corporate as well.

Given the fact that the meat industry contributes so much to climate change, Armstrong’s two movies seem to go hand in hand.

There is an interview with Armstrong at the New York Times.

“Bored To Death” With Jason Schwartzman: Episode 2 Preview

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, September 21st, 2009 in Actors, Film & TV, Videos.

Bored To Death premiered last night on HBO starring vegan Jason Schwartzman, who plays a pot smoking, drinking guy who ruminates too much about the sad parts of his life.

Schwartzman co-wrote Bored To Death, which is probably why there are so many vegan references in the television series.

Schwartzman’s character, Jonathan Ames, calls himself a non-practicing vegan and hooks up with a “radical vegan” helicopter mom (Parker Posey) in one episode, who sends him on a mission to recover her son’s skateboard from a group of bad street kids.

Here’s a clip from episode 2 of Bored To Death above.

Donny Moss, director for the controversial insider film on what happens in the horse-drawn carriage industry, Blinders, was sadly able to utilize his filming skills recently to capture a wreck that occurred in NYC last week.

A taxi crashed into the carriage, throwing the carriage driver into the street.

The horse ran, but is presumed to be okay.

Take a look for yourself and decide: Is it time to overhaul this tradition?

There’s also Kelly Osbourne, who, although rumored to be a flip flop vegetarian, attended the launch of Paul McCartney‘s Meat-Free Monday campaign to get people to reduce their meat intake.

Then there’s Joanna Krupa, who posed in this popular anti-fur ad.

Last year, a spoof PETA ad was recorded by the DWTS contestants, where some “facts” about the cruelties of the dancing industry were revealed.

Donate Life Concert Series: Michelle Branch and Jason Castro

Michelle Branch admits she’s less than a perfect eater.

During a 25 things about myself post, Michelle said:

“I am a vegetarian but when I’m hung over I sneak bacon at breakfast and later deny it happening.”

And a later post on her blog, she revealed missing the home cooked meals of her mother sometimes made her go south.

“It all started on a road trip to Northern California. I had no idea what was in store for me as I innocently drove past In-N-Out burger. I can imagine if you grew up vegetarian, the idea of eating meat is unfathomable. But if you grew up with the marvelous food my mother prepared, divulging in a luxuriously rich Bolognese (with red wine of course) or once in a while a greasy hot dog out of a NYC street cart, after three years you would start to relapse too. One double-double animal style later and my tree-hugging hippy eating ways went out the window. I fell hard and hit every branch on the way down.”

But Michelle is trying to promote better eating, and even invited her fans to view Food Inc.

Here’s Michelle showing the yoga moves that will hopefully give her peace and strength to continue on the right diet path in the Posers: Yogastyles of the Movers and Shakers series.

Jennifer Aniston Wants Mexican Restaurant: We Suggest Sin Carne

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, September 17th, 2009 in Actresses, Food & Drink, Videos.

So if you watched Late Night With Conan O’Brien Tuesday, you might have heard Jennifer Aniston mention she’s interested in starting her own Mexican Restaurant.

We think she should take the plunge and make a vegetarian Mexican restaurant.

Beans, rice and vegetables make up a good portion of the Mexican Diet.

And texturized vegetable protein, faux chicken or pork taste so similar to meat, customers would never miss the real thing.

Chrissie Hynde was able to build a successful Italian vegan eatery, The Vegiterranean, in a meat eating Midwestern town and says mostly meat eaters frequent it.

Jen would have no problem selling Mexican meatless.
