Flavor Flav is known for a lot of things, including wacky hats, bizarre outfits and starting the fashion trend of wearing large clocks around your neck.

Okay, so maybe not the last one.

What Flavor Flav isn’t known for, however, is being one of those cooler hip-hop artists that has embraced a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle.

Now, PETA is offering him a chance to amp up his image by making his fried chicken restarant vegetarian.

Jonathan Mann is known for writing a different song each day, making anywhere from $100-$500 for the projects he does for other people, including one for Steve Jobs to explain what to do if you don’t like your iphone dropping calls.

Mann, a vegan, has penned song #810 titled, “Vegan Myths Debunked,” where he sings a duet with Ivory King discussing where to get protein, calcium and answers all the questions omnivores asks like, “Then, why I do I have these teeth,” referring to the assumption human mouths are best designed to tear meat apart.

Funny, folky and very catchy.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney has voiced his support for a campaign to end the sale of cosmetics in the European Union that have been tested on animals.

The EU has already banned cosmetic testing on animals. And the ban to sale such cosmetics was originally scheduled to take place in 2013, but some officials want the ban delayed.

McCartney and other celebrities are using the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection’s (BUAV) campaign in hopes of convincing officials to adhere to the timeline.

“Animals should not suffer in the name of beauty,” McCartney said. “Testing toiletries and cosmetics on animals is cruel and unnecessary. Join me in signing the BUAV’s petition to ensure the sale of cruel products in the EU is outlawed by 2013. Say NO to Cruel Cosmetics.”

Waka Flocka Flame

After learning how animals are killed for food, Waka Flocka Flame gave up more than his clothes like he did for his recent PETA PSA against fur.

In an exclusive, behind the scenes video with PETA, Waka says he doesn’t even eat red meat anymore, citing the treatment of animals for food as one of his reasons.

Lent is approaching, and many are considering giving up what they consider pleasurable foods such as chocolate and meat. If they continued giving up animals products long after the holiday is over, what are some benefits they might gain?

Medical benefits range from the bones to the bowels.

Here are a few reasons to give up red meat like Waka, from The Independent.

Bowel Cancer: People who eat several portions of meat per week are 30% more likely to develop bowel cancer than those who eat less than one portion per week.

Alzheimer’s Disease: Researchers at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) suggest red meat may cause a buildup of Iron in the brain. To make a long story short, your brain gets rusty.
